Vehicle Integration Manager - Hypercar

Job Purpose:

To lead the commodity definition, virtual development and virtual and physical mass properties of new hypercar vehicles.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day to day management of the Hypercar Integration team
  • Lead the concept package development either with outsourced technical partners or internally with engineering commodity owners and attribute areas to generate package layouts compatible with programme targets
  • Support the development of mechanical layout for new hypercar vehicle concepts and the integration into these to be compatible with functional and geometric targets
  • Support the vehicle engineering teams in platform attribute settings
  • Work with the Design team to define Vehicle Package and Ergonomics targets for the programmes
  • Support the benchmarking, planning and management of dimensional targets and status
  • Generate and maintain primary and secondary hardpoint layouts and release as CAD data in line with platform/programme check points and gateways
  • Provide escalation for package/layout/commodity issues that affect cost, quality or timing.
  • Provide leadership/support to outsource partners and cross functional teams to resolve cross functional package issues
  • Support planning, creation and update of physical bucks with target/hardpoint data.
  • Plan the analysis of Design surface data against package targets and hardpoints
  • Plan virtual series phases with Programme, Manufacturing and Attribute management

Qualification & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in platform, mechanical and occupant package
  • Excellent mechanical engineering background and a comprehensive knowledge of automotive package design.
  • Working Knowledge of AMPCS /MISSION or similar Product Creation Process
  • Good working knowledge of tolerance/variation, manufacturing processes and tooling, testing and development
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Siemens NX CAD software
  • Experience of using Teamcenter for data management
  • Generation 3D NX CAD in line with corporate standards
  • Ability to analyse and validate supplier data to identify issues.
  • Applicable legislation and certification requirements
  • Working across functional teams (design, development, procurement, build and test) to deliver viable design solutions.
  • Working within an OEM environment.
  • Supporting test teams with problem solving.
