Job Purpose:

The purpose of this role is to diagnose and rectify electrical hardware and software integration issues that may be encountered and report back to engineering and build where possible improvements can be made.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support the Aftersales team at base and worldwide if required
  • Drive improvement in processes and equipment to reduce diagnosis time
  • Repair of Electrical connectors and vehicle looms, deutsch and Autosport connector systems
  • Full electrical system fault analysis and rectification using diagnostic tools.
  • Programme, flash, and code vehicle modules.
  • Will have good soldering skills at connector & PCB level.
  • Will be able to work to circuit diagrams / electrical schematics.
  • Will have experience working with Hybrid or Electric vehicles or working with High Voltage systems.
  • Liaise with system and development engineers regarding possible issues identified.
  • Problem solving to aid in solution of current vehicle issues.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience working in a similar automotive electrical based role.
  • Ability to perform detailed inspection and reporting
  • Failure investigations and problem solving.
  • Working across functional teams effectively.
  • Positive, can do attitude is a must
  • Use of various types of electrical diagnostic equipment – (manufacture specific, CANalyser, etc)
  • Prioritize multiple tasks on a day-to-day level.
  • Must be flexible and able to communicate at all levels.
  • Working independently to short time scales
  • Used to working away from base in sub optimal conditions
  • Working alongside dealer technicians
  • Automotive Electrical Qualification or extensive experience
  • Automotive technician – master tech or similar level
  • Computer literate – able to monitor vehicle CAN bus systems
  • Qualified in hybrid & full EV vehicles.
  • HV safety trained.

  • Able to mentor and assist other members of the team and happy to share knowledge
