Join Aston Martin
At Aston Martin, every vehicle we create is the product of precision, craftsmanship, and world-class operational excellence. Behind every car is a highly effective supply chain that ensures the right components are available at the right time, every time. We are now seeking a Lead Inventory Analyst to join our Logistics Operations team in Gaydon and play a pivotal role in driving inventory performance across our manufacturing network.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced inventory or supply chain professional to take ownership of inventory governance, data integrity, performance reporting, and inventory optimisation activities across multiple sites. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and logistics partners to ensure inventory accuracy, minimise risk, and support uninterrupted production.
About the Role
The Inventory team sits within Aston Martin's Logistics Operations function and plays a critical role in enabling seamless production across all manufacturing sites. Responsible for all production parts inventory, the team oversees stock accuracy, inventory levels, capacity utilisation, and obsolescence management.
As Lead Inventory Analyst, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day inventory control activities while supporting the performance and delivery of our logistics partner. You will lead the development of robust inventory governance processes, transform data into meaningful business insight, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that support operational and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
You will take ownership of inventory data across multiple locations, ensuring accurate reporting of stock levels, inventory value, stock age, and storage capacity. You will validate data integrity, investigate stock discrepancies, and resolve transactional issues including lost inventory, arrears, and aged transactions.
Working closely with stakeholders across supply chain and logistics operations, you will plan and coordinate cycle count activities, support inventory control initiatives, manage stock movements between sites, and oversee obsolescence management processes. You will analyse supply and demand patterns to optimise planning parameters and safety stock settings, helping to improve working capital performance while maintaining production continuity.
A key aspect of the role will involve translating complex data into clear, actionable insight through reports, presentations, and business recommendations. You will also create process documentation and standard operating procedures to support audit compliance, consistency, and continuous improvement.
In addition, you will champion a strong safety culture across Aston Martin and our logistics partners while providing support to the wider Logistics Operations function whenever required.
What You'll Bring
We are looking for an analytical and commercially aware professional with experience in inventory control, supply chain planning, material planning, or a similar discipline. You will have experience working with MRP systems such as SAP, Infor LN, or equivalent platforms and be confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels of the business.
You will possess strong data analysis capabilities and advanced computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Excellent communication skills are essential, with the ability to present complex information clearly and accurately to both operational and senior leadership audiences.
You should have proven experience managing inventory-related KPIs, including stock accuracy and transactional performance, alongside practical experience using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, and Ishikawa. A strong understanding of compliance requirements, audit readiness, process governance, and continuous improvement principles will also be important.
Desirable Experience
Experience within automotive manufacturing, warehousing, or a complex production environment would be highly beneficial. Knowledge of working with third-party logistics providers, inventory classification methodologies, forecasting techniques, safety stock planning, cycle counting processes, and stock transactions would also be advantageous.
A degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline is desirable, as is project management experience or qualifications such as APM or PRINCE2.
Why Aston Martin?
This is an opportunity to join one of the world's most iconic luxury automotive brands and contribute directly to the performance of a complex global supply chain.
