This role is critical to the on-time delivery of our product. The purpose of this role is to create a robust schedule to control the supply of components/materials whilst meeting business needs (cost, throughput, customer service) and managing risks. Production planners are responsible for creating and maintaining the production schedule & production orders for different work centers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and implementing best practices to ensure on-time delivery of vehicles.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Managing production plan and orders in ERP [Enterprise Resource Planning] system
  • To ensure production plan delivers the PTS plan
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing, engineering, and Supplier capacity planners to ensure the availability of materials and resources necessary to meet production plan
  • Monitor production performance and adjust the production schedule as necessary to ensure on-time delivery of vehicles
  • Converting Planned into Production orders – ensure delivery dates are met, supply lead times respected, production constraints are not broken and level demand where possible. Analyse demand patterns and production constraints
  • Track aged WIP in the factory process against required PTS dates and communicate with production and factory planner where required

 

What We’re Looking For:

Apprentices able to pay close attention to detail and have a continuous improvement mindset. Strong communication skills are essential to build relationships at all levels. You should be studious, responsible, and reliable, thriving on involvement in continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Essential requirements:

  • 3 A Levels at Grade B or above, including Maths or a Distinction in a BTEC National Engineering subject.
  • Able to attend the Aston University* by personal transport.
