What You’ll Be Doing:
This apprenticeship combines old-school coachbuilding with the use of cutting-edge technology. Apprentices will be taught about:
- the history and development of materials and vehicle construction,
- hand skills, technical drawing and pattern development,
- welding, fabrication including bending, folding, shrinking, and stretching,
- wheeling, making bucks, removal and replacement of components.
- Block release arrangement (1 week every six weeks) at Heritage Trust Surrey*
What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking an individual who is ready to embrace challenges and think creatively. You should be confident and proactive, with a natural curiosity and a passion for learning. Organization and a methodical approach will help you excel, along with the ability to quickly grasp new skills. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, so being a strong team player who thrives in a creative environment is essential. Most importantly, you should be excited to explore the unique fusion of traditional techniques and modern innovation that defines our craft.
Essential requirements:
- 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at Level 4-9/ Grade A*-C to include Maths and English
- Able to commute to the Newport Pagnell site by own means/personal transport.
- Able to attend Heritage Trust Surrey* by own means/personal transport.
