Job Purpose:

To be responsible for the on-time definition, design and delivery of the busbars and connectors for the HV Battery systems across the different platforms

  • You will be leading the activities required to deliver the busbars for both in-house and outsourced HV Battery developments, as well as working with engineering partners and suppliers to validate external designs while supporting cross car line activities.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Defining best practices as well as identifying the key Standards & Regulations required for the commodity.
  • Systems engineering: Sizing of components to meet targets such as weight and dimensions.
  • Systems engineering: Electrothermal impact behavior of the busbar. Contact between materials, being modules, busbars, contactors, connectors…). Mechanical interactions with the different components identified in the boundary definition.
  • Decomposing the different standards for AML key markets (EU, US, etc.) such as LV.
  • Manufacturing methods for busbars: Defining the KPIs and documenting best practices to be applied across the future in-house developments.
  • Supplier management: Requirement cascade, Quality control, DV, Logistics…
  • Simulation management: Working with both internal and external resources, you will be responsible for the final sign off. Stablishing processes to exchange information between the different customers, managing requirements and validation plans at different levels and stages of the programme.
  • Fault and defect analysis: Lessons learnt and default management, using the quality processes for automotive industry: 8D, Ishikawa, etc.
  • Quality: Identify & contain potential quality concerns using engineering quality systems (FMEAs, Robustness Studies).

Qualification & Experience:

  • Previous experience leading the delivery of the above commodities into mass-production.
  • Experience working with US standards as well as LV
  • Experience with manufacturing of parts.
  • Supplier management and experience using Quality metrics and methods to deliver the commodity.
  • Content definition and sequence of DV & PV for A / B / C sample.
  • Leadership of product development projects from early R&D to series production
  • Experience on full vehicle delivery, from concept to mass production.
  • CAE experience – Simulation and validation of results working closely with test houses.
  • Other battery component design experience, such as module, enclose, etc.
  • DFMEA delivery experience.
  • Automotive electrical design and development.
  • Vehicle fusing, relays, harness and connectors.
  • Component Releasing and Change Control management.
  • Experience with CAD (NX, CATIA).
  • Engineering Degree in Electrical, Electronic and/or related field.
