Polisher/Prepper – Paint Shop

We are currently seeking skilled and dedicated Polishers/Preppers to join our Paint Shop team, playing a vital role in ensuring every vehicle meets the world-class quality standards our brand is renowned for.
As a Polisher/Prepper, you will be responsible for preparing and polishing vehicle components, test samples and complete vehicles, including working on special paint finishes and complex graphic applications. Using a variety of sanding media, polishing techniques and specialist tooling, you will enhance painted surfaces to achieve exceptional finish standards. You will also be responsible for masking components as required and carrying out paint rectification activities, ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality through effective self-audit processes.
Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will follow standardised work instructions and quality procedures to ensure safety, quality and delivery targets are consistently achieved. You will carry out first line maintenance activities relating to personal protective equipment and workstation equipment, work safely in line with established processes, and support continuous improvement through near miss reporting and team participation initiatives.
You will play an important role in maintaining quality standards by monitoring workstation defect trackers, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and sustained, and utilising quality escalation processes to prevent defects from progressing through production. Participation in team activities and end-of-line quality reviews will also form part of the role.
This position requires the ability to work efficiently under pressure while meeting both quality and production targets. You will follow established cycle times, identify and communicate issues that could impact delivery, and work in a way that minimises waste and prevents defects or scrap generation.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar automotive paint shop, polishing or preparation role. You will be experienced in spot repairs and general paint rectification, with the ability to prepare and polish parts, test panels and complete vehicles to a high standard. Experience working in repair and offline areas to demanding deadlines is essential, along with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional quality.
