We are seeking an experienced Environmental Systems Manager to lead and develop our environmental management strategy across our UK facilities and ensure we continue to meet our ambitious environmental commitments.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Maintenance & Facilities, you will take ownership of all environmental aspects across Aston Martin sites, ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and corporate standards. You will lead the management and continual improvement of our ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 management systems, preparing the business for annual external audits, maintaining certifications across existing facilities and supporting certification activities for new locations aligned to the company's expansion plans.
This is a highly visible role that combines strategic leadership with operational delivery. You will be responsible for ensuring environmental compliance across the business, coordinating with senior stakeholders, managing audit programmes, and communicating legislative requirements and environmental obligations to Directors and Senior Managers across multiple sites.
You will oversee the company's energy management strategy, providing accurate reporting on energy consumption and costs, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements including SECR, ESOS and greenhouse gas reporting. In addition, you will lead waste management activities across all Aston Martin facilities, managing contractor performance, analysing environmental data and ensuring robust reporting against corporate sustainability objectives.
A key aspect of the position will involve maintaining environmental legal registers, permits and licences, including local authority and regulatory obligations, while coordinating inspections, monitoring activities and stakeholder engagement to ensure continued compliance. You will also play an important role in developing and implementing environmental improvement initiatives that support Aston Martin's sustainability ambitions and long-term environmental performance.
The successful candidate will ideally hold a degree or equivalent qualification in an environmental discipline and possess extensive experience managing ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 management systems within a complex manufacturing environment. You will have strong knowledge of environmental legislation, energy management, sustainability practices, waste management and environmental compliance requirements.
Experience working across multiple sites, managing environmental permits and licences, and leading teams of environmental professionals and contractors is essential. You will be a confident communicator, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organisation and presenting clear, accurate environmental reports and performance data. Strong analytical skills, together with advanced Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly Excel, will enable you to translate complex environmental information into meaningful business insights.
