Behind every successful prototype build is a carefully coordinated supply of parts, accurate information and strong relationships with the people making it happen.
As a Prototype Parts Supply Analyst at Aston Martin, you will help ensure the components required for our pre-production vehicles arrive at the right time. Working across Prototype Operations and Vehicle Engineering, you will connect suppliers, buyers, engineers, manufacturing teams and logistics colleagues, keeping delivery plans moving and responding quickly when priorities change.
Your focus will be on progressing prototype purchase orders and maintaining a reliable delivery schedule across multiple vehicle programmes. Through regular contact with suppliers and internal teams, you will monitor the progress of parts and tooling, identify potential delays and make sure stakeholders have clear, accurate information.
Using Microsoft Excel trackers, you will record delivery timings, update status information and help ensure programme plans remain aligned with the requirements of each prototype build. You will also work closely with Material Planning and Logistics, arrange transport collections, support customs documentation and assist with booking-in or invoice queries when required.
There will also be opportunities to coordinate carry-over parts from manufacturing, maintain the Additional Build Items tracker and support prototype build cost tracking and budget adherence. The role requires someone who is comfortable organising their own workload and balancing competing priorities across several programmes.
You will bring experience from an automotive or engineering environment, together with a broad understanding of vehicle systems and how prototype builds operate. An understanding of vehicle parts and CAD drawings will help you interpret requirements and communicate effectively with engineering teams and suppliers.
You will be confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, to manage detailed information and maintain accurate reporting. Advanced Excel capability would be beneficial, although your disciplined and methodical approach will be equally important.
This is a highly collaborative position, so you will need to communicate clearly with people at different levels of the organisation and build constructive relationships with component suppliers and external engineering partners. You will be approachable, tactful and confident, with the ability to understand supplier constraints while keeping the needs of the wider business in focus
A relevant higher-level or automotive qualification would be welcomed, as would knowledge of tier-two supply processes or high-voltage systems. A valid driving licence is required for the position.
