IT Project Manager - Software Lifecycle & Platforms

Apply now Job no: 512360
Work type: Full Time - Permanent
Location: Gaydon, Warwickshire
Categories: Information Technology

Every Aston Martin starts with exceptional engineering. Increasingly, it also starts with exceptional software.

From vehicle architecture and software repositories to lifecycle management and deployment platforms, technology is becoming fundamental to how we design, build and evolve our vehicles. We're looking for an experienced IT Project Manager to lead some of the most important digital transformation initiatives supporting that journey.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering the software platforms and capabilities that will underpin the next generation of Aston Martin vehicles. Working at the intersection of technology, engineering and business transformation, you'll lead complex programmes that help shape how software is developed, managed, deployed and maintained across our evolving vehicle ecosystem.

You'll be joining Aston Martin at an exciting point in our transformation. As vehicles become increasingly connected, intelligent and software-driven, the platforms that support them become just as important as the engineering excellence they enable. Your role will be to bring together teams, stakeholders and suppliers to ensure critical programmes are delivered successfully, creating technology foundations that will support our vehicles for years to come.

Working closely with colleagues across IT, Software & Electronics Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity and Vehicle Programmes, you'll provide the structure, leadership and momentum needed to turn ambitious plans into reality. Whether you're managing delivery roadmaps, coordinating implementation partners, navigating technical dependencies or ensuring business readiness, you'll be at the centre of some of our most strategically important initiatives.

We're looking for someone who thrives in complex environments and enjoys bringing clarity to challenging programmes. You'll be comfortable balancing technical delivery with stakeholder management, risk management, governance and business engagement. You'll know how to build credibility quickly, influence decision-making and maintain momentum, even when managing multiple priorities across a diverse stakeholder landscape.

To succeed in this role, you'll already have a strong track record delivering complex IT projects from initiation through to implementation. Experience leading digital transformation programmes, enterprise technology projects or large-scale business change initiatives will be essential. You'll be confident managing budgets, risks, suppliers and cross-functional teams, while maintaining focus on delivering measurable business outcomes.

We're particularly interested in individuals who have experience working within software platforms, software lifecycle environments, systems integration programmes or product-focused technology landscapes. Experience gained within automotive, manufacturing or similarly complex engineering-led organisations would be highly advantageous, although we're equally interested in candidates who can demonstrate transferable expertise from other industries.

You'll bring a structured and organised approach, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to simplify complexity while ensuring projects remain on track. A degree-level qualification alongside PRINCE2, PMP or an equivalent project management certification is essential.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is passionate about delivery. Someone who enjoys solving problems, bringing people together and seeing transformational programmes make a genuine impact. This is a role where your influence will be felt across the organisation and where your work will directly contribute to the future of Aston Martin.

Based at our Gaydon headquarters, this role offers flexible working arrangements with occasional travel to other Aston Martin locations as required.

This is more than a project management position. It's an opportunity to help shape the systems, platforms and capabilities that will support the next generation of Aston Martin vehicles and play a key role in our digital future.
