SET Project Engineer - Suspension & Steering Systems

Apply now Job no: 512355
Work type: Full Time - Permanent
Location: Gaydon, Warwickshire
Categories: Chassis

If you enjoy bringing people, plans and engineering delivery together, this could be an excellent opportunity to develop your career within Aston Martin's Chassis engineering team.

As a SET Project Engineer, you'll play an important role in the delivery of Suspension & Steering systems across our vehicle programmes. Working closely with the Vehicle Line Manager, Vehicle Programme Team and engineering specialists, you'll help coordinate the development of key chassis components, ensuring they are delivered to the right quality, cost and timing targets.

This is a role for someone who enjoys understanding how a programme comes together. You'll be at the centre of discussions between multiple teams, helping to keep activities aligned, resolving issues, tracking progress and ensuring everyone is moving towards the same programme objectives.

Rather than being focused solely on component design, this position offers a broader view of vehicle development. You'll gain exposure to the full programme lifecycle, working across engineering, manufacturing and programme functions to help deliver products from concept through to launch.

You'll need enough technical knowledge to understand the challenges facing the team, challenge where appropriate and support informed decision-making. At the same time, you'll bring strong organisation, planning and stakeholder management skills to ensure workstreams remain on track and risks are identified early.

This role would suit someone with experience in project engineering, programme delivery or product development within automotive or a similar engineering environment. A background in chassis, structural systems or related commodities would be particularly valuable, alongside an understanding of engineering release processes, programme gateways and product development frameworks.

What makes this role particularly interesting is the opportunity to build a well-rounded understanding of vehicle development. You'll work alongside experienced technical specialists while developing your own programme management and delivery expertise. It's an excellent position for someone who enjoys combining technical understanding with coordination, planning and problem-solving.

We're looking for someone who is collaborative, resilient and comfortable working in a fast-paced development environment where priorities can evolve. You'll be confident communicating with a range of stakeholders, able to translate complex technical information into clear actions and motivated by delivering successful programme outcomes.

At Aston Martin, you'll join a team responsible for delivering some of the most exciting vehicles in the automotive industry, gaining valuable exposure to the people, processes and decisions that shape a vehicle programme from initial concept through to production.

This version keeps the focus on the reality of the role: programme coordination, delivery, stakeholder management and technical understanding, while subtly highlighting the career development that naturally comes from that exposure rather than overselling future opportunities.
