Drive Excellence Behind the World's Most Beautiful Cars

At Aston Martin, our iconic vehicles are the result of exceptional craftsmanship, precision engineering and seamless collaboration across every part of the business. Behind every vehicle that leaves our production line is a highly effective supply chain that ensures the right materials arrive at the right place at the right time.

We are currently seeking a talented and driven Lead Material Planner to join our Supply Chain team at our Gaydon manufacturing facility. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced planning professional to play a critical role in supporting production operations and helping deliver the outstanding quality our customers expect from Aston Martin.

The Role

As a Lead Material Planner, you will be responsible for scheduling and controlling the supply of materials and components to support both immediate production requirements and future build programmes. Working at the heart of the manufacturing operation, you will ensure material availability while maintaining target inventory levels and minimising supply chain disruption.

You will proactively manage supply risks, monitor material availability, and develop effective recovery plans to support production schedules. A key aspect of the role will involve working closely with suppliers, logistics providers, procurement teams and manufacturing stakeholders to ensure parts are delivered on time and in full.

You will take ownership of supplier performance, leading constructive discussions and improvement initiatives where required. The position also involves coordinating engineering changes and modifications with the supply base, helping to minimise obsolete stock while ensuring continuity of supply.

Working alongside inventory and logistics teams, you will maintain accurate stock records, manage inventory adjustments and support invoice query resolution. You will also be responsible for managing exceptional logistics requirements, negotiating special transport arrangements when necessary and recovering supplier-related costs while maintaining production continuity.

This highly visible role requires regular engagement with senior operational stakeholders, providing clear communication regarding inbound supply status, material risks and forward planning activities.

About You

We're looking for a resilient, proactive and results-driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will have experience within material planning, logistics or supply chain operations, ideally gained within the automotive sector or a similar manufacturing environment.

You will possess strong communication and relationship-building skills, allowing you to work effectively with suppliers, logistics providers and internal stakeholders at all levels. The ability to remain calm under pressure, make informed decisions and deliver practical solutions to complex supply challenges is essential.

A good understanding of automotive components, production planning and logistics processes would be highly advantageous. Experience of lean manufacturing principles and an awareness of automotive production systems would also be beneficial. Strong computer literacy is required, and candidates with a degree, higher diploma or equivalent qualification will be viewed favourably.

Why Aston Martin?

Joining Aston Martin means becoming part of one of the world's most prestigious luxury automotive brands. You will work alongside passionate and talented colleagues in a business that values innovation, excellence and continuous improvement. This role offers the opportunity to directly influence production success while contributing to the delivery of exceptional vehicles that are admired around the globe.

If you are an experienced planner with a passion for manufacturing excellence and supply chain performance, we would love to hear from you.
