About the Role

At Aston Martin, every detail matters. Our Interior Trim team plays a vital role in shaping the craftsmanship, quality, and feel of our vehicles, translating design vision into beautifully executed reality.

We are currently looking for a Senior Engineer – Trim Development to join our Body Engineering function. This role will focus on the development of both soft and hard trim components, ensuring they meet design intent while delivering against quality, cost, and timing targets.

Working closely with design, engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams, you will take ownership of trim development activities across the full product lifecycle, from concept through to production.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will support the development and delivery of interior trim components, contributing to both the technical and practical aspects of trim engineering.

You will be involved in developing soft and hard trim solutions, providing feedback during concept stages to ensure feasibility and alignment with production requirements. You will support project and commodity engineers in delivering trim development targets, while helping manage schedules and workload planning.

A key part of your role will involve working closely with manufacturing teams and suppliers to ensure new designs are feasible, robust, and ready for production. This includes supporting production process development to ensure repeatability and quality, as well as creating master trim patterns and initial bill of materials for trim components.

You will validate trim patterns against digital data, provide surface compatibility feedback to design teams, and support physical build phases. Throughout testing, prototype, pre-production, and production stages, you will investigate and help resolve issues to ensure successful delivery.

What We’re Looking For

You will bring strong experience in automotive trim development, with a deep understanding of both soft and hard trim materials and manufacturing processes.

You are likely to have completed an Automotive Trim Development Apprenticeship (OEM or Tier 1) or have equivalent hands-on experience, alongside a solid understanding of the product creation process from concept through to launch.

You will be confident working with a range of trim materials such as leather, Alcantara, fabrics, vinyl, and foams, and have knowledge of associated processes including lamination, bonding, and retention methods. Experience with sewing techniques, pattern creation, and CNC cutting processes will also be important in supporting development activities.

You will understand production constraints and feasibility considerations, enabling you to contribute effectively to design decisions and ensure high-quality outcomes.

How You’ll Work

You are highly detail-oriented and quality-focused, with a passion for delivering exceptional products. You take pride in your work and approach challenges with enthusiasm and resilience.

You will be comfortable working collaboratively across multiple functions, building strong relationships with engineering, design, manufacturing, and supplier teams. At the same time, you are proactive and able to take ownership of your work, driving activities forward independently when required.

Flexibility and adaptability are key, as you will be working in a dynamic environment where priorities can evolve. A hands-on, practical mindset combined with strong technical understanding will be essential to success in this role.

Why Aston Martin?

This is a rare opportunity to contribute to the creation of world-class luxury vehicles, where craftsmanship, innovation, and attention to detail define everything we do.

You will play a key role in bringing our interiors to life, working on products that represent the very best of automotive design and engineering.
