Senior Engineer-Manufacturing Engineering - Trim and Final

Apply now Job no: 511982
Work type: Full Time - Permanent
Location: St. Athan, South Wales
Categories: Manufacturing

At Aston Martin, manufacturing excellence is about far more than building exceptional vehicles. It's about creating smart, efficient and innovative processes that enable our teams to deliver world-class quality, every single day.

We're looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our Current Manufacturing Engineering team at St Athan, supporting both the Trim & Final and Vehicle Confirmation areas. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping how our vehicles are built, driving improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, safety and performance across the production environment.

In this role, you'll be responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes that achieve challenging quality, delivery and cost targets whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety. Working closely with Production, Quality, Manufacturing Business Office and cross-functional teams, you'll help identify smarter ways of working, reduce waste and embed best practice throughout the manufacturing operation.

You'll use your knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles to evaluate facility and tooling requirements, support process planning activities and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Whether you're reviewing line performance, balancing production activities, developing process documentation or supporting the implementation of new parts and processes, you'll have the opportunity to make a visible impact on manufacturing performance and vehicle quality.

A key part of the role will involve working collaboratively with colleagues across the business to investigate complex manufacturing issues, identify root causes and implement robust countermeasures. You'll be responsible for helping ensure process changes are introduced effectively and that engineering standards are maintained through detailed process operation sheets, PFMEAs and control plans.

You'll also play an important role in supporting manufacturing optimisation activities, including tooling selection, line balancing and process improvements that help deliver efficiency gains whilst ensuring the safety of technicians is never compromised. This is a role for someone who enjoys problem-solving, influencing change and continuously looking for ways to improve how things are done.

We're looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with strong technical capability and a passion for operational excellence. You'll ideally be qualified to HNC or Engineering Degree level, or be working towards a degree qualification. Previous Manufacturing Engineering experience is essential, alongside a strong understanding of structured problem-solving techniques and the ability to analyse and interpret data effectively.

Experience of CAD systems, ideally Siemens NX or similar 3D CAD software, would be highly beneficial, as would knowledge of tooling selection and manufacturing process controls. Automotive manufacturing experience is desirable, although what matters most is your ability to think critically, embrace new ideas and work collaboratively to deliver results in a dynamic production environment.

This is more than a Manufacturing Engineering role. It's an opportunity to influence how some of the world's most desirable vehicles are built and to be part of a team committed to continuous improvement, innovation and manufacturing excellence. If you're passionate about solving engineering challenges and want to play a key role in shaping the future of Aston Martin manufacturing, we'd love to hear from you.
