Aston Martin is seeking a Lead CAD Engineer – Chassis to support the design and integration of braking systems, wheel assemblies and tyre interfaces across our vehicle programmes.
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality 3D CAD models and 2D drawings, ensuring robust packaging and integration within the vehicle architecture from concept through to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design of brake, wheel and tyre components (discs, callipers, hubs, hoses, fasteners, wheels)
- Ensure effective packaging considering kinematics, thermal, manufacturing and styling constraints
- Support concept to production delivery, including design reviews and engineering sign-off
- Apply DFM/DFA, GD&T and tolerance analysis
- Maintain CAD data quality, standards and configuration control
- Collaborate cross-functionally and integrate supplier CAD data
- Provide technical guidance to engineers and support high-quality drawing output
About You
- Experience in automotive chassis CAD, ideally brakes, wheels and tyres
- Proficient in Siemens NX (or similar)
- Strong understanding of packaging, integration and vehicle systems
- Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis and lifecycle delivery (concept to SOP)
- Experience working with suppliers and CAD data management
- Exposure to suspension kinematics is desirable
