About the Role

Aston Martin is seeking a highly skilled Manager Technical Support to lead the delivery of technical expertise and diagnostic support to our global dealer network. This new role sits within the Aftersales Technical Services team and plays a vital part in ensuring world-class customer satisfaction through reduced vehicle downtime, improved first-time fix rates, and minimised warranty costs.

 

You will oversee the AMTech (technical helpdesk) team, including Field Service Engineers and the Problem Definition team, driving operational excellence and acting as the escalation point for regional offices and client services. Through close collaboration across departments – including Product Development, Quality, Manufacturing, and Regional Offices – you will ensure our dealer network receives timely, accurate, and effective support to uphold the exceptional standards associated with the Aston Martin brand.

 

Key Responsibilities

As Manager Technical Support, you will lead and develop the Technical Support team to deliver consistent, high-quality diagnostic assistance across our global dealer network. You will ensure that key performance indicators such as response times, right-first-time repair rates, and overall dealer satisfaction are consistently achieved. The role involves proactive management of complex technical cases to minimise vehicle downtime, coordination of Field Service Engineer support, and regular analysis and reporting of field issues to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. You will represent Aftersales in critical concern and recall activities, champion compliance and continuous improvement, and act as the voice of the dealer network within the wider business to ensure customer impact is fully understood.

 

About You

You are an experienced automotive professional with a strong background in vehicle diagnostics and manufacturer-level aftersales operations. You combine deep technical expertise with proven leadership skills, capable of motivating and developing a high-performing team while managing complex, cross-functional projects. Highly organised and analytical, you bring a structured approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Technical Requirements:

  • Extensive experience within the automotive industry, ideally with a vehicle manufacturer or technical support function
  • Advanced knowledge of vehicle electrical architecture and software systems
  • Experience diagnosing vehicles using tools such as AMDS (Aston Martin Diagnostic System) , EvODiag, or similar OBD ((on-Board Diagnostics ) platforms
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and analyse vehicle log files, including DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes)  and live data
  • Strong understanding of CAN (Controller Area Network), LIN (Local Interconnect Network) and FlexRay protocols
  • Skilled in the use of diagnostic oscilloscopes such as PicoScope
  • Proficiency with data analysis and presentation tools, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with ERP and BI systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly
  • Being located in Gaydon, full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally to dealer and manufacturing sites is also required.
