Job Purpose: 

To Manage and ensure compliance to UNECE R156 – Software Update Management System across all Aston Martin programmes.

Key Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for adherence to R156 related process across the department and wider business.
  • Chair and lead the Software Update Change Control Board.
  • Review and streamline R156 related processes to ensure efficiency and reliability.
  • Support all SUMS concern escalations and ensure timely escalations.
  • Represents Software Integration in engineering and Legislation and Compliance reviews.
  • Building positive and constructive relationships at all levels and with stakeholders, and is aware of others’ needs and uses this to work well together.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • In depth knowledge of UNECE R156 – Software Update Management System regulation with demonstrable experience in its application within an OEM environment.
  • Understanding of the principles of systems engineering.
  • Experience of automotive software and integration project delivery.
  • Strong experience in process design and implementation.
  • Knowledge of, or experience in delivering Electrical or Electronics commodities (HD & SW).
  • Knowledge of Product Development Cycle from concept to launch completion.
  • Strong understanding of automotive legislation and certification requirements related to the EE domain.
  • Communication and influencing skills.
  • Experience of automotive pre-production build environments.
  • Experience of Electrical Engineering vehicle fleet support.
  • Must be able to manage large workloads in a high-pressure environment and prioritise accordingly.
  • Confident and concise presenter.
