JOB PURPOSE:

The Supply Chain Planning team is responsible for creating robust, capacity assured, deliverable production plan to optimise the flow of material and car production whilst meeting business needs (cost, throughput, customer service) and managing risks.

This role is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with supplier capacity. Developing strategies to ensure continuity and reliability of the supply chain through developing plans to ensure the continuity of supply through supplier risk assessments, mitigation planning, performance monitoring and relationship management.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leading a team of risk engineers.
  • Leading cross functional capacity risk mitigation activities.
  • Drive management of capacity issues with AML stakeholders (QC, Procurement) and external suppliers.
  • Creating and maintain a live supplier capacity risk list.
  • Ensure supplier capacities are known and supplier are signed off to required capacity
  • Manage process for any items requiring level ordering.
  • Responsibility to ensure supply base is in position to support build plans, constraints and risks visible and managed.
  • Overall design, implementation and continuous improvement of the supplier risk approach and associated processes within AML Supply Chain (Process Ownership).
  • Monitor the effectiveness of mitigating actions and on-going process adherence.
  • Provide input to S&OP process for medium to long term supplier risks that could affect supply capability.
  • Work closely on a day-to-day basis with internal stakeholders and functional areas, as well as suppliers, to:
    • Identify any potential risks related to the ability of the supply base to support planned production.
    • Assess the risks towards impact on production plan.
    • Develop mitigating actions and evaluate actions towards costs, timelines, capacity, etc.
    • Recommend action plans and obtain cross-functional buy-in.
    • Manage the implementation and execution of mitigating actions.
    • Provide visibility on risks.
  • Ensure the standardisation of core processes & all data is held on the departments SharePoint.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or STEM subject desirable.
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g., APICS) desirable.
  • Additional language would be desirable.
  • Significant experience across Supply Chain functional areas and demonstrated ability to understand and manage complex supply chains.
  • Deep understanding of planning processes and materials management.
  • Experience in identifying and assessing supplier risks.
  • Experience in successfully liaising and influencing a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate at different levels of the business.
  • Ability to communicate, summarize complex information.
  • Prior experience in automotive or manufacturing industries in business / supply chain / engineering roles.
  • Analytical, strong communication, project management and stakeholder management skill required.
  • Able to travel at short notice within the UK or worldwide to Suppliers and other Aston Martin sites.
