We are seeking a Systems & Features Engineering Manager to lead our Systems Engineering team and provide the methods, governance and technical direction required to deliver integrated system and feature content across all vehicle programmes, including our next-generation SUV and GT platform. This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring that complex vehicle-level needs are decomposed into complete, consistent and verifiable system requirements.
In this position, you will lead a team of System Architects and Feature Owners accountable for requirements elicitation, analysis, decomposition and allocation from vehicle level through to systems, subsystems and components. You will establish clear system boundaries, interfaces and acceptance criteria, ensuring that functional and non-functional requirements are understood, traceable and owned across engineering functions, programme teams, suppliers and technology partners.
You will define and evolve Aston Martin's systems engineering strategy, processes and standards across current vehicle platforms and future architectures. Covering stakeholder needs, use cases, functional analysis, logical and physical architecture, requirements definition, interface management, implementation and verification, you will govern the end-to-end V-model and maintain bidirectional traceability between requirements, design decisions, test evidence and vehicle-level acceptance.
Working across a highly complex technical environment, you will chair and govern system and feature maturity reviews, design reviews and requirements-quality assessments. You will manage system baselines, interfaces, assumptions, dependencies, variants and revisions across vehicle lines, model years and software releases, applying disciplined configuration and change control. You will drive the resolution of requirement gaps, interface conflicts and emergent system behaviours through structured technical analysis, trade-off studies, risk management and evidence-based decision-making, while representing Software & Electronics Engineering in senior technical and programme forums.
A key aspect of the role will be advancing Aston Martin's systems engineering capability for software-defined vehicles. You will embed scalable requirements and architecture practices, promote model-based systems engineering where appropriate, and ensure engineering toolchains support traceability, configuration control and collaborative development. You will align system integration, verification and validation strategies across simulation, virtual environments, HIL, PIL, LabCar and vehicle testing, ensuring each requirement has an appropriate method of verification and that evidence is built progressively from component to vehicle level.
To be successful, you will bring significant experience in automotive or another safety-critical, highly regulated product-development environment, together with a strong command of systems engineering across the full lifecycle from concept and stakeholder needs through architecture, integration, verification, validation and production launch. You will have led multidisciplinary teams delivering complex systems and will be confident applying requirements management, interface control, configuration management, technical risk management and formal review processes within a fast-paced programme environment.
You will understand the interaction between functional architecture, electrical and electronic architecture, software, networks, diagnostics, controls and the physical vehicle. Experience with requirements-management and systems-modelling tools, system safety and cybersecurity constraints, supplier requirement cascades, and methods such as SysML or model-based systems engineering will be highly advantageous. Above all, you will be able to create technical clarity from complexity, challenge constructively and communicate system-level decisions, risks and evidence with confidence at every level of the organisation.
