SVO Paint Technician

Aston Martin Lagonda

Location: Wellesbourne
Department: SVO Paint Operations
Reporting to: Senior Production Manager

At Aston Martin, we create some of the world's most desirable ultra-luxury performance vehicles. Within our Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division, every vehicle is crafted with exceptional attention to detail, combining cutting-edge technology with artisan craftsmanship. We are now seeking a highly skilled SVO Paint Technician to join our talented team and help deliver world-class finishes that exceed customer expectations.

As an SVO Paint Technician, you will be responsible for preparing, painting, repairing and polishing vehicles and components to the highest possible standards. Working on bespoke, low-volume and prototype vehicles, you will apply specialist paint processes, graphics, carbon material tinting and premium finishes to create truly unique Aston Martin vehicles. This role demands a meticulous approach, a passion for quality and the ability to achieve show-car levels of finish and presentation.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience preparing a wide variety of materials and surfaces, ensuring every component is ready to receive a flawless finish. You will inspect vehicles and panels for defects, carry out advanced surface preparation techniques, apply water-based and solvent-based paint systems, and complete refinishing and repair work ranging from minor rectification through to full vehicle paint applications. Exceptional polishing and finishing skills are essential, as is the ability to undertake high-quality panel repairs and consistently deliver Class-A surface standards.

Working within a controlled paint environment, you will take pride in maintaining a clean and organised workspace that supports outstanding quality outcomes. You will be equally comfortable working independently or as part of a collaborative team, communicating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders while meeting challenging quality, delivery and productivity targets.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will have completed a recognised apprenticeship in automotive paint refinishing and vehicle repair, supported by a minimum of five years' experience within an automotive, prototype, motorsport or high-end manufacturing environment. You will have proven expertise in filling, shaping and finishing hand-formed and low-volume panels, alongside experience using a variety of paint manufacturers' systems and repair processes. The ability to independently prepare, paint and polish vehicles and components to OEM and customer-facing standards is essential.

In return, Aston Martin offers the opportunity to work on some of the most exclusive and technically advanced vehicles in the world, within a team that values craftsmanship, innovation and excellence. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated paint professional who takes pride in delivering exceptional quality and wants to play a key role in creating truly remarkable vehicles.

Candidates should be flexible and willing to work overtime, including evenings and weekends when required, to support programme milestones and critical delivery schedules.
