Some engineers develop features, others help deliver the systems that define how a vehicle performs.
At Aston Martin, we're looking for a Lead Engineer- Motion Control to play a pivotal role in delivering the software and control systems behind some of the world's most desirable performance vehicles.
This is an opportunity to sit at the heart of vehicle programme delivery, leading the coordination and execution of Motion Control activities across Aston Martin's future vehicle programmes. From engine and transmission controls through to vehicle dynamics and electronic control systems, you'll help ensure critical software and calibration deliverables are aligned, tracked and delivered to the highest standards.
Working within our Software & Electronics Technology function, you'll act as the primary Motion Control interface for vehicle programmes, bringing together engineering teams, suppliers and programme stakeholders to ensure successful delivery from initial concept through to Start of Production.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys bringing structure to complex engineering programmes. You'll be responsible for coordinating project timing, managing budgets, supporting software releases, tracking deliverables and maintaining visibility of programme status across multiple stakeholders. You'll become the focal point between Motion Control, Vehicle Line Management and wider programme teams, ensuring everyone remains aligned and focused on successful delivery.
We're looking for someone who combines strong project delivery skills with an understanding of engineering environments. You'll be comfortable managing multiple priorities, balancing programme timing, quality and cost requirements while helping teams overcome challenges and maintain momentum. Whether you're managing JIRA and Polarion activities, coordinating software releases, tracking calibration data or monitoring key programme milestones, your work will have a direct impact on vehicle delivery.
To succeed in this role, you'll already have experience in project management and product delivery within an automotive, engineering or technology-led environment. Experience with JIRA, Polarion and structured product creation processes such as GPDS, AMPCS, MISSION or similar frameworks will be essential. You'll also have an understanding of the wider business functions that support successful vehicle delivery, including Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing and Logistics.
Just as importantly, you'll be someone who can lead through influence. This role requires strong communication, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to challenge where necessary, hold others accountable and maintain progress against demanding programme targets. While the role does not have direct reports, you'll be leading project activities across multiple teams and functions.
A degree-level qualification and a recognised Project Management certification such as PRINCE2 or equivalent are essential. Experience within Motion Control commodities, including Engine Management, Transmission Control or related systems, would be advantageous, although not essential.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving problems and takes genuine pride in helping deliver exceptional products.
Based in Wellesbourne, this is a fantastic opportunity to work on some of the most advanced software and electronics programmes within the automotive industry while contributing directly to the future of Aston Martin.
This is more than a project delivery role, it's an opportunity to help bring the next generation of Aston Martin vehicles to life.
