Every Aston Martin is engineered to excite. But behind every exhilarating drive is an unwavering commitment to safety.
At Aston Martin, we're looking for a Restraints Senior Engineer to join our Vehicle Engineering team and help shape the safety systems that protect our customers without compromising the performance, luxury and craftsmanship that define our brand.
This is an opportunity to become a key contributor within our Restraints & Safety Electronics team, supporting the development and delivery of passive safety systems across future Aston Martin vehicle programmes. From concept through to production, you'll play a critical role in ensuring restraint systems meet demanding safety, quality, cost and timing targets while integrating seamlessly into some of the world's most desirable performance vehicles.
Sitting at the heart of vehicle development, you'll work closely with design, integration, CAE, programme, manufacturing, procurement and quality teams, helping to develop innovative restraint solutions that support our vehicle safety objectives. Whether you're leading component development activities, supporting design reviews, investigating technical issues or driving validation plans, you'll have a direct impact on the final product.
We're looking for an engineer who enjoys balancing technical depth with programme delivery. Someone who is comfortable owning components and systems throughout their lifecycle, collaborating with suppliers and stakeholders, and making informed engineering decisions that contribute to successful vehicle launches. You'll support prototype builds, validation activities and issue resolution, while helping ensure restraint systems are delivered to Aston Martin's exacting standards.
To succeed in this role, you'll already have experience delivering automotive components or systems within a product development environment and understand what it takes to bring a product from concept through to launch. Experience working with restraints, vehicle safety systems or other complex automotive commodities would be highly advantageous.
You'll be comfortable working with CAD systems such as NX, leading design reviews, supporting prototype development and interpreting engineering data to drive design decisions. Knowledge of automotive development processes, DFMEA, virtual builds, quality reviews and gateway deliverables will be essential, alongside the ability to work effectively across multiple engineering disciplines and supplier networks.
This role would suit someone who combines technical capability with a practical mindset. Someone who enjoys solving problems, investigating root causes, building relationships and delivering robust engineering solutions within challenging programme environments. Strong communication skills, resilience and the ability to adapt when priorities change will be key to your success.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is passionate about engineering and motivated by the opportunity to help develop the next generation of Aston Martin vehicles. Someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys seeing their work translated into exceptional products.
Based in Gaydon, this role will involve occasional travel to Aston Martin and supplier locations as required. A valid driving licence is therefore essential.
This is more than a Restraints Engineer role, it's an opportunity to help develop the systems that protect our customers while contributing to the performance, innovation and engineering excellence that sit at the heart of every Aston Martin.
