Some vehicles are designed to meet expectations. Others are created to redefine them.
Within Aston Martin's Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) team, we deliver some of the most exclusive, bespoke and technically ambitious vehicles in the automotive industry. From low-volume special projects to one-off customer commissions, our programmes demand exceptional engineering integration, uncompromising attention to detail and a relentless focus on delivering world-class vehicle performance, craftmanship and customer experience.
We're looking for a Vehicle Engineering Leader to play a pivotal role in the delivery of these extraordinary vehicles.
This is an opportunity to sit at the centre of vehicle development, working across engineering disciplines to ensure complex, small volume, programmes are delivered with the quality, integrity and attention to detail that define Aston Martin. You'll help drive technical delivery from concept through to prototype builds, vehicle testing and key programme gateways, balancing performance, timing, customer expectations and engineering excellence every step of the way
At the heart of the role is vehicle level integration. Working closely with the Vehicle Engineering Manager, you will lead key vehicle engineering activities across programme delivery, helping drive technical integration, attribute development, and the virtual, component and vehicle level design verification, through critical technical checkpoints and gateways. You will act as a focal point for cross-functional engineering teams, collaborating with specialists across design, programme management, engineering, purchasing and product strategy to support the successful delivery of SVO programmes. You'll monitor and report programme technical health, with the opportunity to provide clear engineering recommendations, drive data-led decision making and help resolve delivery, performance and customer expectation impacting complex vehicle-level issues. Working closely with attribute and system teams, you'll support target setting and vehicle evaluation to ensure products are delivered with the right balance of performance, timing, quality and engineering integrity, achieving the standards expected of the Aston Martin brand.
You'll also play a key role in Design Verification Plan (DVP) delivery, through coordinating validation activities across virtual and physical test environments, ensuring vehicles and engineering data are contributing to development, engineering maturity and programme milestones, while supporting programme risk management.
This role would suit someone who enjoys bringing people, processes and technology together. You'll be naturally collaborative, comfortable influencing across multiple teams and motivated by seeing a programme evolve from an idea into a fully realised vehicle. Whether you're leading engineering discussions, supporting vehicle assessments, driving issue resolution or helping define development strategies, your work will have a direct impact on the vehicles we create
We're looking for an experienced automotive engineer with a strong understanding of whole vehicle development, systems integration and engineering problem-solving. Experience within niche performance OEM vehicle development & validation, prototype builds, vehicle attributes and/or technical calibration/system integration would be highly beneficial. You'll be a self-starter who takes ownership, thrives with accountability and is comfortable working independently whilst bringing people together to solve complex engineering challenges. You'll be a confident communicator, capable of leading cross-functional discussions, influencing stakeholders and driving issues through to resolution
Most importantly, you'll be passionate about creating exceptional vehicles, motivated by complex technical challenges and excited by the opportunity to help shape some of Aston Martin's most exclusive and desirable products.
At Aston Martin, this is more than an engineering role. It's an opportunity to influence the development of extraordinary vehicles from concept through to delivery, working alongside talented colleagues who share a passion for engineering excellence, innovation and creating truly special products that will be admired by enthusiasts and collectors around the world.
