Senior Procurement Manager (18-Month FTC – Parental Leave Cover)

We’re looking for a Senior Procurement Manager to join us on an 18-month fixed-term basis, covering parental leave. You’ll take ownership of a key area within our Procurement team, leading from the front to define and deliver against strategic objectives while ensuring the team remains aligned, focused, and consistently delivering at pace.
This role goes beyond day-to-day sourcing. You’ll play a central role in shaping how Procurement partners with the wider business, working cross-functionally to influence outcomes, drive performance, and ensure we are set up to meet both immediate and long-term targets. From supporting vehicle programmes to delivery against cost, timing, and risk mitigation goals, your ability to bring people together and lead with clarity will be key.
You’ll be responsible for building and maintaining strong, effective supplier relationships, developing long-term strategies that enable stability, performance, and value. At the same time, you’ll lead, coach, and inspire your team, creating a high-performing, motivated environment where individuals are empowered to deliver and grow.
Working closely with senior stakeholders across Engineering, Finance, Design, IT and Programme teams, you’ll represent Procurement in key forums, ensuring alignment, driving accountability, and providing clear visibility of progress. You’ll also play a key role in identifying and embedding process improvements, both internally and across the wider supplier landscape, helping to elevate how Procurement operates across the business.
This role would suit someone who brings a strong background in Procurement, with a clear understanding of the strategic importance of the function. You’ll be comfortable operating at a senior level, balancing commercial focus with relationship-building, and bringing both analytical thinking and sound judgement to your decision-making.
You’ll naturally bring structure, pace, and clarity to a busy environment, with the confidence to challenge where needed and the ability to adapt your approach depending on your audience. Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership capability are essential, alongside a proactive mindset and a drive to continually improve how things are done.
Based at our Gaydon site, this role may involve occasional travel depending on business needs, so a full driving licence is required.
