At Aston Martin, performance is measured in every detail. From the unmistakable sound of our vehicles to the refined driving experience our customers expect, engineering excellence is at the heart of everything we do. We are seeking a talented Brakes NVH Integration Engineer to join our Vehicle Dynamics team and play a pivotal role in delivering world-class braking refinement across our current and future vehicle programmes.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence the development of some of the world's most desirable luxury performance vehicles while working alongside leading engineering specialists in a collaborative and innovative environment.
As the Brakes NVH Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the brake Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) attribute across Aston Martin's vehicle portfolio. Working at the intersection of brake system development, vehicle integration and customer experience, you will ensure our vehicles deliver the premium refinement and quality expected of the Aston Martin brand.
You will take ownership of brake NVH performance throughout the full vehicle development cycle, defining targets, identifying issues, leading investigations and driving robust engineering solutions. The role offers significant visibility across multiple programmes and provides opportunities to work with suppliers, specialist testing facilities and cross-functional teams throughout the business.
In this role, you will lead the development and delivery of brake NVH performance across a range of vehicle programmes, ensuring braking systems achieve the required levels of refinement and customer satisfaction.
You will define and manage brake NVH targets, undertake technical investigations into issues such as squeal, judder, groan and creep groan, and lead problem-solving activities through structured engineering methodologies. Working closely with Vehicle NVH, Chassis Engineering, Vehicle Integration, CAE and Test & Development teams, you will ensure brake system performance is fully aligned with overall vehicle attribute objectives.
The position will also involve planning, executing and interpreting vehicle, rig and climatic test activities, collaborating with simulation teams to correlate and predict performance, and supporting the development of brake system components including pads, discs, calipers and actuation systems.
A key part of the role will be working directly with suppliers and engineering partners, ensuring technical requirements are clearly defined, understood and successfully delivered from concept through to production.
We're looking for someone with a passion for vehicle dynamics, complex engineering challenges and technical excellence. You will be comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating effectively with a broad range of stakeholders across both technical and non-technical functions.
The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical capability with excellent communication skills, allowing them to translate complex engineering issues into clear recommendations and effective solutions.
You will enjoy investigating root causes, challenging assumptions and continuously seeking improvements that enhance both vehicle performance and customer experience.
You will hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related discipline, or possess equivalent industry experience.
You should also bring:
- Experience in brake systems and NVH engineering within the automotive sector.
- Strong knowledge of brake NVH phenomena and vehicle attribute development.
- Experience of structured problem-solving techniques such as 8D, DMAIC and root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with NVH measurement and analysis tools, such as Head Acoustics, LINK and MATLAB.
- Experience conducting and interpreting development and validation testing.
- Strong technical presentation and reporting skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
Joining Aston Martin means becoming part of a team that is shaping the future of luxury performance vehicles. You'll have the opportunity to work on exciting global programmes, influence key vehicle attributes and see your engineering solutions come to life in production vehicles driven around the world.
The role offers exposure to a wide range of engineering disciplines and provides excellent opportunities for future progression into specialist technical leadership positions, Brake Systems Engineering, NVH expertise, or wider Engineering Management roles.
Our culture encourages curiosity, ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement, giving you the freedom to develop your expertise while contributing to some of the most iconic vehicles in the automotive industry.
