HR Business Partner - Manufacturing Operations

Apply now Job no: 512100
Work type: Part Time - Permanent
Location: Gaydon, Warwickshire
Categories: Human Resources

Opportunities like this don’t come around often.

We’re looking for an experienced HR professional who wants to stay close to the business, influence at a senior level, and make a real impact, all within a part-time role.

This is a manufacturing-based, onsite role at our Gaydon Headquarters, with the full 25 hours worked on site. The position is part-time (25 hours per week), ideally across Tuesday to Thursday, with some flexibility in how those hours are structured, which we’re happy to discuss at the interview.

As our HR Business Partner, you’ll report to the Head of HR Business Partnering and work directly with Directors and Managers across a range of functions. This is a hands-on, business-facing role where you’ll act as a trusted advisor, helping leaders navigate both day-to-day people matters and bigger organisational challenges.

You won’t just be responding to issues, you’ll be shaping outcomes. By really understanding your business areas, you’ll bring insight, challenge and practical solutions that align people priorities with business goals.

What you’ll be doing
At its core, this role is about partnership. You’ll build strong, credible relationships with managers, supporting and stretching them to get the best from their teams.

You’ll be the go-to for expert advice across all areas of HR, from employee relations and performance to succession planning and absence management. You’ll be confident managing complex ER cases, providing clear guidance while ensuring fairness, consistency and compliance with UK employment law.

You’ll also play a key role in talent and organisational development, supporting organisation reviews, identifying and developing talent, and helping teams navigate change so it lands well and delivers lasting impact.

Bringing new HR initiatives to life will be another important part of the role. You’ll take what’s been designed centrally and make it work in practice, using your knowledge of the business to embed it effectively.

And just as importantly, you’ll help make sure our people feel heard, gathering insight, listening to feedback and supporting actions that strengthen the overall employee experience.

What we’re looking for
You’ll be an experienced HR professional, ideally CIPD qualified (or working towards it), with a strong background in employee relations, ideally within a unionised and similarly complex environment.

You’re comfortable operating in a fast-paced setting, confident handling challenge and able to build credibility quickly with stakeholders at all levels. You know how to balance support with constructive challenge, and you’re not afraid to hold the line when it matters.

A strong understanding of UK employment law is essential, along with the ability to apply it in a pragmatic, commercially aware way.

Experience within engineering, manufacturing or an OEM environment is preferable, as is experience within a trade union (TU) environment. Exposure to redundancy programmes would be advantageous.

You’ll also bring strong communication skills, resilience, and a positive, solutions-focused mindset. A full driving licence and willingness to travel are required.

Why join us?
This is a genuinely rare opportunity to step into a part-time HR Business Partner role without compromising on scope, impact or senior exposure.

You’ll be working at the heart of the business, influencing decisions, shaping people strategy and seeing the difference you make every day, all within a flexible working pattern that supports life outside of work too.

If you’re looking for a role where you can do meaningful, high-impact HR work on a part-time basis, we’d love to hear from you.
