About the Team
The Vehicle Engineering team plays a pivotal role in ensuring every Aston Martin vehicle expresses our brand DNA and delivers the intended level of attribute performance. Sitting at the centre of vehicle programme delivery, the team provides a critical technical integration function with broad cross‑functional engagement across engineering, quality, manufacturing and programme management.
The team is accountable for delivering technical integration, managing vehicle fleet cost, maintaining programme timing aligned to checkpoints and gateways, and ensuring the right level of integrity is achieved at the right time to deliver the correct vehicle metrics.
The Opportunity
Working closely with the Vehicle Engineering Manager or Senior Manager, this role plays a leading part in vehicle programme delivery. You will take ownership of key vehicle engineering activities across attributes, virtual development, design verification and prototype builds, helping ensure products meet both customer expectations and business requirements.
This is a senior, visible role within the programme structure, ideally suited to someone who is confident leading cross‑functional teams, guiding complex technical discussions and driving data‑led decisions across the vehicle lifecycle.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will work in close partnership with the Vehicle Engineering Manager or Senior Manager, leading key vehicle engineering activities and supporting programmes through defined technical checkpoints and gateways. You will take ownership of assigned areas of technical programme health, leading inputs into Tech Forum and ensuring the right issues are prioritised, supported by robust data and clear recommendations that enable timely, informed decision‑making.
You will also lead elements of Vehicle Integration Team (VIT) meetings, ensuring overall technical delivery progresses as planned and that cross‑functional vehicle engineering issues are clearly understood, managed and resolved. This includes leading the resolution of complex issues across design, architecture, vehicle attributes, DVP activity, build and fleet topics, while ensuring appropriate monitoring, escalation and governance through concern reviews, start‑ups and management forums such as LCM, PCM and Tech Forum.
Within the vehicle engineering management framework, you will operate across four core pillars. For vehicle attributes, you will consolidate engineering status across attribute teams to ensure Platform Bandwidth Requirements and Vehicle Technical Specifications are achieved and maintained. You will support the delivery of both subjective and objective elements of the Product Attribute Leadership Strategy, assist in target setting and cross‑functional balancing, and ensure vehicle targets are achieved and clearly tracked throughout the programme. You will also lead activities around golden attribute vehicles, coordinating qualification, specification tracking and assessments carried out with the Vehicle Evaluation Team.
In the area of Design Verification Planning, you will lead overall system and vehicle DVP activities, supporting the Vehicle Engineering Manager in ensuring robustness is achieved through the right methods and at the right time. This includes managing verification activities across virtual, SIL, HiL, Labcar and physical vehicle testing. Working closely with system engineering teams, you will collate and report overall DVP status, ensuring quality and timing targets are met. You will also lead fleet hardware and software pedigree activities to ensure vehicles are fit for test and that spares and consumables requirements are centrally planned and ordered.
For virtual series activity, you will support the management of overall virtual development, ensuring data completeness, compatibility and quality at virtual freeze. You will ensure outputs are clearly defined and measurable against DVP requirements for both geometric and non‑geometric data.
You will also lead prototype vehicle activities, defining required prototype builds, vehicle specifications and bridging parts to ensure vehicles are of the correct pedigree for their intended development purpose. This includes supporting containment sign‑offs to confirm vehicles are fit for test, as well as supporting prototype and production releases to ensure engineering integrity, attribute performance and the correct ordering of parts and spares.
