About the Team
The Vehicle Engineering team plays a vital role in ensuring every Aston Martin vehicle delivers against our brand DNA and performance ambitions. Acting as a central integration function, the team works closely across engineering disciplines to ensure technical integrity, programme efficiency and high‑quality delivery throughout the vehicle lifecycle.
We are accountable for technical integration, vehicle fleet cost, programme timing and quality — ensuring the right engineering decisions are made at the right time to deliver exceptional products.
The Opportunity
This role supports the Vehicle Engineering Manager during the programme delivery phase and plays a key part in coordinating vehicle engineering activities. You’ll help bring together micro, macro and system‑level engineering inputs across attributes, virtual development, design verification and prototype builds, ensuring vehicle programmes meet both customer expectations and business objectives.
This is a highly collaborative role suited to someone who enjoys working across teams, managing complexity and helping turn technical data into clear, timely decisions.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will support key vehicle engineering activities across small and medium‑scale programmes, guiding them through defined technical checkpoints and gateways. Working closely with engineering teams, you’ll help coordinate and present programme health status into forums such as Tech Forum, ensuring the right topics are prioritised, supported by robust data and accompanied by clear recommendations to enable effective decision‑making.
You will also support elements of Vehicle Integration Team (VIT) meetings, helping to ensure overall technical delivery progresses as planned. This includes driving clear visibility of cross‑functional vehicle engineering issues and enabling timely, data‑led decisions across the programme. As part of this, you’ll help coordinate issue resolution across design, architecture, vehicle attributes, DVP activity, build and fleet topics, ensuring appropriate monitoring, escalation and governance through the relevant concern reviews, start‑ups and management forums.
Within the vehicle engineering management framework, you’ll operate across four key pillars. For vehicle attributes, you’ll help coordinate engineering status across attribute teams to maintain Platform Bandwidth Requirements and Vehicle Technical Specifications, supporting both subjective and objective delivery of the Product Attribute Leadership Strategy. You will coordinate activities around golden and key prototype vehicles, ensuring appropriate qualification, specification control and tracking, and supporting assessments carried out by the Vehicle Evaluation Team.
In the area of Design Verification Planning, you’ll coordinate system and vehicle‑level DVP activity, ensuring robustness is achieved through the right combination of virtual methods, laboratory testing and physical vehicle evaluation. Working closely with system engineering teams, you’ll track and report DVP status to ensure quality and timing targets are met, while also coordinating fleet hardware and software pedigree so vehicles are fit for test and consumables and spares are planned centrally.
For virtual series activity, you’ll help coordinate overall readiness by ensuring data completeness, compatibility and quality at virtual freeze. This includes ensuring both geometric and non‑geometric data outputs can be clearly measured against DVP targets.
You’ll also support prototype vehicle activities, coordinating the definition of required builds, vehicle specifications and bridging parts so that prototype vehicles are of the correct pedigree for their intended development purpose. This includes supporting containment sign‑off to confirm vehicles are fit for test, and assisting with prototype and production releases to ensure engineering integrity, attribute performance and the correct ordering of required quantities and spares.
