Manufacturing Programme Engineer

Apply now Job no: 511628
Work type: Part Time - Permanent
Location: Gaydon, Warwickshire
Categories: Manufacturing

Shape the future of Aston Martin’s most iconic models.

We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Manufacturing Programme Engineer to join our core Manufacturing Engineering team. Working across a diverse range of programmes, you’ll lead planning and coordination efforts to ensure our manufacturing strategies are robust, timely and fit for purpose.

This is a part-time role ((23 hours per week: Wed & Thurs 07:00–16:00, Fri 07:00–12:00) offering structured hours and genuine flexibility — an ideal opportunity for an experienced professional seeking work-life balance without compromising on challenge or impact.

The Role

As a key member of the central Manufacturing Engineering function, you will coordinate programme delivery activities across multiple vehicle lines. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to ensure seamless communication between engineering teams and programme leads, acting as the strategic conduit that keeps plans on track and deliverables aligned.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating programme gateway submissions and tracking status of deliverables
  • Collating evidence packs for reviews and distribution
  • Driving closure of actions from PST meetings
  • Managing responses to Standard Equipment Lists (SEL) and Process Design Layouts (PDL)
  • Ensuring project master schedules are in place and adhered to
  • Monitoring Investment Spend Requests (ISRs) for compliance and timeliness
  • Supporting programme cost reviews and cost-saving initiatives
  • Coordinating timely sign-off of Engineering Release Notices (ERNs)
  • Representing the voice of Manufacturing Engineering in cross-functional programme meetings

What You’ll Need

We’re looking for someone with a recognised engineering apprenticeship and significant experience in automotive manufacturing, ideally supported by an ONC qualification as a minimum, with an HNC or degree in engineering preferred. You’ll bring a solid understanding of process documentation, facility and tooling requirements, and workstation layout planning. Familiarity with tools such as PFMEA, 8D problem-solving, and Microsoft Office is essential, and experience with AML-specific systems like Goldcrest, ERNs, EASE, or eCMS would be a distinct advantage.

You’ll be comfortable operating independently, capable of managing multiple priorities, and confident in working with diverse stakeholders. A solutions-focused mindset is key, as is the ability to adapt to the unique challenges of a low-volume, high-variation manufacturing environment. Most importantly, you’ll be motivated by a desire to make a tangible impact, seeing your work directly influence the success of some of the world’s most admired vehicles.

Why Join Us?

This is more than a support role — it’s an opportunity to be immersed in the end-to-end lifecycle of our entire product portfolio. Unlike similar roles at other OEMs, you won’t be confined to a single programme. Instead, you’ll gain breadth, influence, and the opportunity to shape how Aston Martin delivers its future icons to the world.

If you are looking to return to a technical role with the flexibility to maintain balance — or are simply ready for something refreshingly unordinary — we encourage you to apply.
