About the role
We’re looking for an Interior Trim Project Engineer to join our R&D team, playing a key role in delivering high-quality interior systems across our vehicle programmes.
In this role, you’ll take ownership of interior trim components and sub-assemblies, guiding them from early concept through to production. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure designs meet performance, quality, timing and cost targets, while reflecting the craftsmanship and innovation expected of Aston Martin.
This is an opportunity to make a visible impact, contributing to the design and delivery of premium interior environments across multiple vehicle platforms.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll lead the development and delivery of interior trim components, working with both internal teams and external suppliers to bring concepts to life. Your focus will be on ensuring robust engineering solutions that meet programme requirements and deliver a best-in-class customer experience.
You’ll be responsible for managing CAD development activities, supporting the creation of 2D and 3D data, and ensuring all information is accurately maintained within PLM systems. Alongside this, you’ll collaborate with suppliers and partners to assess feasibility, identify opportunities for innovation, and ensure designs are delivered efficiently.
As part of the role, you’ll benchmark competitor products and present insights to support continuous improvement. You’ll also play a key role in resolving issues throughout the development lifecycle, including prototype, pre-production and production phases, ensuring a smooth transition into manufacturing.
Working autonomously while contributing to a wider team, you’ll lead and coordinate CAD resources where required and communicate technical updates confidently to stakeholders at all levels.
About you
You’ll bring solid experience in automotive interior trim development, with a strong understanding of delivering components from concept through to production. You’re comfortable taking ownership of your work, managing competing priorities and driving progress in a fast-paced engineering environment.
You have experience working with suppliers and cross-functional teams, and you understand the importance of balancing design, cost and quality targets. Your approach is proactive and solutions-focused, with the ability to identify risks and adapt quickly when challenges arise.
Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll be working with a wide range of stakeholders and presenting technical information clearly and confidently. A collaborative mindset, attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement will help you succeed in this role.
What you’ll bring
You’ll have experience in interior trim system development within the automotive industry, along with a good understanding of engineering processes across the full product development lifecycle.
A background in mechanical or automotive engineering (or equivalent experience) will support your success in this role, alongside familiarity with CAD tools and engineering data systems. Knowledge of Siemens NX or Teamcenter would be beneficial, but not essential.
You’ll also bring an understanding of quality and validation processes, along with experience working to defined engineering standards and requirements.
Additional information
This role may involve occasional travel to meet with suppliers or support vehicle development activities. There may also be opportunities to be involved in prototype vehicle testing.
