Cost of Ownership Attribute Engineer

Apply now Job no: 511932
Work type: Full Time - Permanent
Location: Gaydon, Warwickshire
Categories: Vehicle Engineering

At Aston Martin, we are driven by a relentless pursuit of excellence, where craftsmanship, performance and innovation come together to create truly exceptional vehicles. Every detail matters, and every decision shapes the experience our customers have with our brand.

We are now looking for a passionate and forward-thinking individual to take ownership of one of the most influential elements of that experience – the total cost of ownership.

This is a unique opportunity to define and shape a critical vehicle attribute across our entire portfolio. Working at the intersection of engineering, commercial strategy and customer insight, you will play a key role in ensuring that our vehicles not only inspired but deliver long-term value and confidence to our customers.

The opportunity

In this role, you will lead the definition, development and delivery of the cost of ownership attribute at vehicle, system and component level across all Aston Martin programmes. This includes areas such as service costs, insurance ratings, warranty forecasting, recovery and leasing costs, combining both objective data and subjective customer perception.

You will be responsible for building and evolving a clear attribute strategy that reflects our brand DNA, while benchmarking against best-in-class standards. Through close collaboration with teams across engineering, manufacturing, service, quality, product strategy and beyond, you will ensure that this attribute is fully embedded across the organisation and consistently delivered across every programme.

This role offers the opportunity to influence at the highest level, working with senior stakeholders to translate the “voice of the customer” into meaningful targets and measurable outcomes. You will guide both virtual and physical validation activities, ensuring robust delivery within cost, timing and quality constraints, while continuously driving innovation and improvement.

As a recognised authority in the field, you will lead the development of standards, processes and methodologies, ensure effective governance through programme gateways, and provide clear reporting and insights that support decision-making across the business.

What you will bring

You will bring proven experience within an automotive OEM or a closely related sector, with a strong understanding of product delivery and attribute development. Your background may include manufacturing, service, cost estimating or vehicle development, but what sets you apart is your ability to connect technical detail with customer impact and commercial awareness.

You are comfortable working across both high-volume and niche vehicle programmes, and you have experience leading and influencing indirect teams in complex, cross-functional environments. You combine strong analytical capability with sound financial understanding, and you are confident using data and insight to drive decisions.

A natural communicator, you are able to build strong relationships across diverse stakeholder groups and influence at all levels of the organisation. You are equally comfortable working independently or as part of a wider team, and you bring a structured, detail-oriented approach to everything you do.

Above all, you are motivated by challenge and inspired by the opportunity to shape something meaningful. You are resilient, adaptable and committed to delivering to the highest standards, even in fast-paced and demanding environments. You take pride in mentoring others and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing culture.

This is more than a role; it is a chance to leave your mark on a world-class automotive brand. You will be part of a team that values innovation, embraces challenge and is united by a shared ambition to create extraordinary vehicles and experiences.

If you are ready to influence the future of Aston Martin and play a key role in shaping how our customers experience ownership, we would love to hear from you.
