Vehicle CAE Simulation Senior Manager

Apply now Job no: 511898
Work type: Full Time - Permanent
Location: Gaydon, Warwickshire
Categories: Vehicle Engineering

At Aston Martin Lagonda, we create some of the most desirable high-performance vehicles in the world. Behind every car is a blend of innovation, precision engineering and world-class simulation. We are now looking for a Vehicle CAE & Simulation Senior Manager to lead and evolve our vehicle-level virtual engineering capability, shaping how we design, develop and deliver future vehicles.

The Opportunity

This is a critical leadership role responsible for defining and delivering the overall vehicle CAE and simulation strategy across NVH, CFD and Vehicle Performance. You will lead multiple specialist teams and drive simulation-led decision making across the full vehicle development lifecycle, from early concept through to production sign-off.

Working at the centre of engineering, you will enable faster, higher-quality development through advanced virtual engineering, ensuring strong alignment between simulation and physical testing.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

You will define and own the CAE and simulation strategy, ensuring capability across NVH, aerodynamics and thermal CFD, and full vehicle performance supports all phases of development. You will set standards for model quality, correlation, governance and data management, while balancing model fidelity, timing and cost to meet programme objectives.

As the senior technical authority, you will guide complex cross-domain trade-offs, ensuring optimal vehicle-level outcomes across areas such as aerodynamics, NVH and vehicle dynamics. You will ensure robust correlation between simulation and physical testing, continuously improving methods and validating approaches. You will also review and approve key CAE deliverables at programme gateways.

You will oversee full-vehicle NVH simulation, including structural dynamics, acoustics, road and wind noise, as well as powertrain influences. In CFD, you will lead activities covering external aerodynamics, cooling, heat management and cabin airflow. Across vehicle performance, you will oversee simulation of dynamics, ride and handling, durability and overall performance, driving integrated, system-level optimisation.

You will lead and develop a team of managers and senior engineers, setting clear objectives, managing resources and supporting long-term capability growth. You will foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and technical excellence.

In addition, you will own the roadmap for CAE tools, digitalisation and high-performance computing environments, driving the adoption of model-based development, optimisation techniques and digital twin concepts. You will continuously improve efficiency through automation, standardisation and model reuse, while ensuring compliance with quality, safety and regulatory requirements.

About You

You will be degree qualified in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline, with a Master’s or PhD preferred. You will bring extensive experience in vehicle CAE and simulation within automotive, motorsport or advanced mobility environments, alongside proven leadership experience managing multiple teams or senior engineers.

You will have a strong technical foundation in at least one core area such as NVH, CFD or vehicle performance, with a broad understanding across all three. You will be experienced in delivering CAE solutions on complex vehicle programmes and confident navigating cross-functional engineering challenges.

Your technical toolkit will include experience with industry-standard CAE tools such as Nastran, Abaqus, STAR-CCM+, Fluent, MSC Adams or similar, alongside data analysis and scripting capabilities using tools such as MATLAB or Python. Experience working within high-performance computing environments and managing CAE data at scale is important.

You will be a strong communicator and influencer, capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels. You combine strategic thinking with a hands-on, delivery-focused approach and bring a genuine passion for virtual engineering and continuous improvement.

Experience in electrified vehicles, vehicle-level optimisation, systems engineering or high-performance automotive environments would be advantageous.
