Aston Martin Lagonda (AML) is going through an exciting period of change and growth, with numerous new models being developed and launched in the last few years with more on the horizon, including the Valkyrie Hypercar. This role requires a highly motivated self-starter who will be capable and comfortable working within a cross-functional team within the Product Creation environment. Product Creation encompasses everything from, design, engineering, launch and manufacturing readiness. The successful candidate will offer invaluable support to the business and demonstrate the ability to interface with Engineering, Programme Management and Procurement colleagues to a high degree of accuracy.
To support aspects of financial control and reporting within the Product Creation Finance team. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter who is capable and comfortable when working in a cross-functional project environment.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
Review of engineering change costs and other expenditure requests to confirm alignment with project budgets.
Accurate update and accounting of cost changes in project trackers/documents.
Support of resource planning, review and analysis.
Participate in cross-functional teams to identify key financial risks or issues.
Support of cost centre control (including monthly accounting and forecasting analysis).
Preparation and posting of monthly accruals / pre-payments.
Delegated responsibility for Product Creation Finance Analyst when required.
Provide a key Interface between the Aston Martin Finance team and various Aston Martin Project teams.
Important to be able to manage own time and multiple objectives at the same time, often there will be requests from multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines.
High degree of ability to solve complex finance and business challenges is required and in this role you will support achievement for ensuring short, medium and long term targets (aligned to the operations and management plans) are understood and that current performance is monitored and reported against
Ability to work flexibly due to monthly, quarterly and annual deadlines to ensure the forecasts, budget and business plan are available on time.
Qualification & Experience:
Candidates should have a proven track record of a broad financial and interpersonal skill set with strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
Strong excel and other desktop skills.
Cognos (IBM) and experience using an ERP desirable.
Previous experience within a financial Product Creation function preferable, specifically in a project environment.
Collaboration – working together to achieve the business plan requirements.
Customer focus – understand the finance and operations requirements and align them.
Communication – articulate and listen to colleagues on a timely basis to ensure there is an honest and two-way communication of the business plan status and risks and opportunities ahead.
