Commodity Leader - Powertrain Modules

Job Purpose:

Lead delivery of all departmental commodities achieving key business targets of Quality, Cost & Timing (QCT) for all AML future/current programmes.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Principal point of contact for all operational activities relating to commodity progression & delivery. You provide leadership, guidance & expertise to the relevant commodity teams
  • Manage delivery of compatible solutions for all commodities & all aspects of business (L&C, R&D, New Model Quality, Procurement, Finance/PCE, M,P&L , Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, Design)
    • Cost Responsibility: Collation, delivery to target. & cost reduction activities
    • Delivery Responsibility: Estimate, plan & manage delivery of commodities to expected timescales
  • Develop cross platform system/commodity strategies
  • Chair cross functional reviews to enable timely commodity team decision making
  • Provide status information for Gateway events
  • Creation of master commodity plans, critical path planning & alignment to programme timing
  • ETRS & ERN management & maintenance
  • Concern coordination & resolution in relation to commodity delivery
  • Support definition of DVP requirements & commodity DVP tracking
  • Prototype Build/Launch/SoP support coordination via commodity team
  • Maintain/cascade information between platform programme & commodity teams
  • Coordinate TDC activities
  • Develop, implement, manage & report team KPI’s for area of responsibility

Qualification & Experience:

Previous experience essential to undertake this role.

  • Solid recent experience required of OEM project management
  • Technical understanding of commodities within Cooling, Heat Protection & Thermal Management, Exhaust, Fuel & Battery Systems
  • Proven leadership skills managing cross functional teams
  • Proven leadership of complex concern/issue resolution
  • Broad knowledge of Powertrain Base Engine, Driveline & ePowertrain functionality
  • Broad knowledge of Powertrain quality, design & validation methods
  • Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent qualification / experience
