Job Purpose:

To manage the Gaydon facilities engineering team in delivery of agreed strategical manufacturing capital investment projects.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Delivery of high investment capital projects ensuring timing & cost status is clearly defined & monitored. Manage and oversee day to day multiple project tracking across the team and AML sites.

Development & implementation of improved Facilities processes to ensure legislative requirements are met & fully adhered to.

Understand project roadblocks and ensure clear escalation to ensure business plans & objectives are met.

Support Senior Manager in identifying departmental training needs & coordinate training delivery.

  • Responsibility for the project management of all capital investment projects.
  • Liaise with developers, architects, M&E & engineering supplier and AML internal departments to lead ambitious and challenging projects.
  • Team management to include crown, absence and performance
  • Manage & monitor timing plans and ensure delivery within the agreed time scales.
  • Manage budgets and ensure this is not exceeded, both in terms of investment and resource.
  • Produce weekly status of project to AML Senior Management team.
  • The Manger will be overseeing multiple facility projects, with his / her main responsibility being to ensure adherence to processes and procedures. This will involve the following activities:
  • Health & Safety – ensure compliance & adherence to all relevant H&S process requirements
  • Environmental -  ensure compliance & adherence to all relevant Environmental process requirements
  • Specification – Investigate the customers’ requirements determining and identifying the most appropriate solution. This solution will then be turned into a written specification to be issued for quotation.
  • Vendor Selection – Evaluate and investigate supplier tender submissions and recommend the preferred supplier.
  • Design Development – As more detail becomes available the facility design may need to change the project engineer will be responsible for monitoring and controlling cost changes.
  • Equipment Manufacture and Installation – Ensure the standard of equipment and installation is acceptable to AML.
  • Commission – Ensure the plant and equipment operates within the specification and achieves the targets set out in the specification and meets all legislative requirements.
  • The successful candidate must understand CDM and the use of method statement and risk assessment.
  • Cost and project Management.

Qualification & Experience:

  • The candidate will need to be HNC/D qualified with extensive relevant experience of managing and controlling high capital facility installation projects. AutoCAD experience is essential
