Job Purpose:

To deliver Passive Safety attribute performance for AML product(s) ensuring both program targets and legislative requirements are met. To act as 1st point of contact to programme for safety performance content. To represent Safety and Restraints team at program application reviews and gateways.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Working with other functions, lead cross-functional Safety Performance (Attribute) Team for given product(s)
  • Establish and confirm vehicle, system and component level safety targets
  • Drive engineering issues resolution to meet targets within programme constraints
  • Set and manage programme budgets
  • Liaise with internal and external CAE partners
  • Manage Safety attribute related DVP and timing
  • Represent Passive Safety and Restraints team at program application team reviews
  • Manager Safety and Restraints KPI’s (e.g. Change management) on specific vehicle applications
  • Co-ordinate and Conduct safety attribute related testing (including full vehicle, sub-system and component testing)
  • Work with restraints and safety electronics commodity engineering teams to ensure adherence to safety targets.
  • Work with the Vehicle Attribute Manager to deliver attribute targets for the vehicle
  • Work with the cross functional commodity teams and CAE to deliver the overall vehicle attribute targets

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree educated
  • Extensive experience in Vehicle Safety Attribute Delivery
  • Experience in the use of CAE with regards to passive Safety delivery
  • Proven supplier leadership experience.
  • Excellent mechanical engineering background and a comprehensive knowledge of Safety performance engineering, and development and interface to safety and restraints components.
  • Working knowledge of AMPCS / MISSION or similar Product Creation Process.
