Lead the aerothermal groups' functions at a platform level through all phases of development, from concept to delivery and provide significant input into the group's long-term strategy.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
As an Expert Aerodynamicist Aerothermal, you’ll lead the aerothermal development of future vehicles at a platform level.
Actively participating in all phases of vehicle development from concept to delivery.
Demonstrating expert knowledge and the capability to deliver results in a complex technical environment you will lead multidisciplinary activities within the aero group to deliver the required vehicle and platform performance.
You will contribute to steering the long-term development of the department’s capabilities & processes.
You will write technical reports and present results to a business-wide audience including senior management and technical heads of partner companies.
You will provide in-depth technical leadership and support the growth of the team and individual team members.
Expert in the field of vehicle thermodynamics demonstrated through the publication of technical papers and attendance and presenting at relevant conferences to remain aligned with the state of the art in the field and promote Aston Martin’s technical credentials.
Qualification & Experience:
Experienced a full vehicle programme cycle and its derivitives.
Expert knowledge of aerodynamics and thermodynamics in a similar role with either F1, an OEM or as an outsourced partner.
Expert knowledge with Commercial or Open source CFD and Thermal modelling software including Pre and post-processing tools.
Led physical track and climatic wind tunnel testing campaigns.
Data processing skills suitable for large data sets. Ideally a good understanding of technical computing languages, e.g. MatLab, C & VB.
In-depth knowledge of physical testing data acquisition and testing techniques.
3D CAD skills, preferably with NX and an understanding of product life management systems.
