They analyse the security of the products, the risks to the business and they come together to develop sound programs, to be in a constant circle of improvement.

Job Purpose

To lead the strategy for and the introduction, adoption and continuous adherence to IT Governance, working towards the introduction of the COBIT framework and leading the migration to the ITIL4 framework.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Governance – Responsible for defining and implementing the appropriate IT Policies. Ensuring that policies and strategy are implemented and that required processes are correctly followed by measuring and reporting and taking actions to resolve any issues identified.
  • Compliance - Ensure the preparation, collation and distribution of information for internal and external IT audits.  Maintain oversight of plans to address audit actions.
  • Risk – Review and assess the risk register with the management team.  Feed required actions to PMO and escalate to corporate risk register when required.
  • IT Service Management – Lead the change to ITIL4, keeping a focus on the four dimensions (Organisation & People, Information and Technology, Partners & Suppliers, Value Streams & Processes) and the Service Value system (Guiding Principles, Governance, Service Value chain, Continual Improvement and Practices).
  • Responsible for ensuring that IT has the tools to achieve the above.
  • This person will need to build relationships with IT customers and team members to establish the needs to implement the policies, procedures & accredidations.

 

Skills & Experience

Requirements Identification - This means being able to:

  • Identify the stakeholders, select requirement gathering techniques (e.g. interviews, workshops, business process documentation) relevant to the situation and translate information into a succinct and full list of prioritised requirements (functional and non-functional) to share with the customer.

Information Analysis – This means being able to:

  • Gather and integrate information from multiple sources.
  • Assess the integrity of data identifying gaps, errors and potentially inaccurate data.
  • Apply a variety of analytical methods to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Draw conclusions and report information using a variety of presentational techniques to convey key messages and findings.
  • Develop new and utilise existing KPI’s to demonstrate improvements in value to IT.

Planning and Organisation – This means being able to:

  • Establish goals and identify priorities for the IT organisation and the customer.
  • Use project management principles to estimate and plan work, ensuring adherence to the AML project methodologies.
  • Identify resources and people needed to complete work and factor their availability into the plan.
  • Make adjustments to priorities, timelines and approach when appropriate.

Communication and Knowledge Sharing – This means being able to:

  • Drive adoption of IT processes with a focus on organisational change management.
  • Get messages understood by adopting a wide range of styles, tools and techniques.
  • Share information, good practice and expertise with others.
  • Present sound and well-reasoned arguments to convince others.
  • Listen actively and objectively without interrupting.
  • Respond to and discuss issues without being defensive.
  • Particularly adept at conveying ideas concisely in writing. Whether that be through pictures, statistics, graphs or presentations, you need to be able to express information coherently, concisely and clearly within reports or specifications.

Teamwork – This means being able to:

  • Build and sustain positive relationships with team members and customers.
  • Respect and value others and be sensitive to their differing needs and values.
  • Play a full part in the team and help to achieve team goals.
  • Take the lead when appropriate.
  • Be responsive to changes in customer needs and expectations.
  • Prepared to take a “hands-on” approach.

 

Remuneration Package

  • Salary Circa £47,000 (12 month fixed term contract)
  • Private Medical Cover - Single cover, Family cover at an additional cost.
