For over 110 years, Aston Martin has created some of the world’s most desirable ultra-luxury performance vehicles. Combining beautiful design, innovative engineering and exceptional craftsmanship, our products continue to set new standards for performance and customer experience. As the automotive industry evolves towards increasingly connected, software-led products, we are seeking an Innovation & Advanced Technology Lead – Software Defined Vehicles & Connectivity to help define the next generation of Aston Martin vehicles.
This is a rare opportunity to shape future vehicle concepts before they enter programme development, influencing the technologies, architectures and connected experiences that will underpin Aston Martin’s future product portfolio. Working at the forefront of advanced systems engineering, you will lead the development and delivery of our Software Defined Vehicle and Connectivity technology roadmap, translating emerging technologies and strategic opportunities into actionable engineering direction.
As the Innovation & Advanced Technology Lead, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, evaluating and integrating new technologies that can enhance vehicle capability, digital experiences and connected services. You will be responsible for leading early-stage concept feasibility activities, assessing how innovative software, connectivity and digital technologies can be successfully integrated into future vehicle architectures while ensuring alignment with Aston Martin’s brand, business and product strategies.
Working across engineering, procurement, suppliers and programme teams, you will evaluate technology readiness, compatibility and integration requirements, providing clear recommendations that support critical decisions during concept development. Your expertise will help ensure that future technologies are not only technically feasible but are also compatible with sourcing strategies, supplier capabilities, cost objectives and programme requirements.
A significant part of the role will involve assessing emerging trends across Software Defined Vehicles, connectivity ecosystems, vehicle digital platforms and future mobility technologies. Through robust feasibility studies and trade-off assessments, you will help define future system architectures and integration approaches that enable software-led innovation while maintaining the world-class performance and driving experience expected of an Aston Martin.
Alongside your technical responsibilities, you will contribute to the continuous evolution of Aston Martin’s systems engineering capability, driving improvements in methodologies, frameworks and tools that support early-phase technology
development. You will act as a champion for innovation, helping to foster a collaborative environment where new ideas, technical excellence and forward-thinking engineering can thrive.
To succeed in this role, you will hold a degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical/Electronic or Systems Engineering, with a higher degree being advantageous. You will bring proven experience in technology road mapping, concept feasibility, advanced systems engineering or early-stage vehicle integration, combined with a strong track record in Software Defined Vehicle and Connectivity strategy and development within a high-performance automotive environment.
You will possess a strong understanding of vehicle architectures, systems engineering principles and cross-functional integration, with the ability to assess complex technical challenges and translate emerging technology opportunities into practical recommendations. Experience working across engineering, procurement and programme management teams will be essential, alongside excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and analytical skills.
Knowledge of systems modelling, simulation and data analysis techniques will be highly beneficial, as will experience of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), electrified vehicles, autonomous technologies or advanced mobility platforms. Most importantly, you will bring a passion for innovation, a hands-on approach to technology delivery and a desire to help define the future of software-enabled luxury performance vehicles.
At Aston Martin, you will have the opportunity to influence products years before they reach our customers, working alongside talented engineers and industry experts who are passionate about delivering extraordinary vehicles. If you are excited by emerging technologies, connected vehicle innovation and the opportunity to shape the future of Software Defined Vehicles within one of the world’s most iconic automotive brands, we would love to hear from you.
