JOB PURPOSE:

The Supply Chain Planning team is responsible for creating robust, capacity assured, deliverable production plan to optimise the flow of material and car production whilst meeting business needs (cost, throughput, customer service) and managing risks.

The Sales & Operations Planning Lead is responsible for leading and managing the monthly S&OP process, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that S&OP plans are aligned with business objectives and that we can meet our business goals of meeting demand while minimising costs and maximising efficiency.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The S&OP Lead is responsible for developing and managing the S&OP process to ensure that it is effective and efficient.
  • Leading cross-functional teams, including sales, production, and finance, to ensure that S&OP plans are aligned with business objectives.
  • Developing S&OP plans that balance demand and supply while optimising production efficiency and minimising costs.
  • Monitoring performance against S&OP plans and identifies potential issues that may impact the organization's ability to meet demand.
  • Working with cross-functional teams to develop contingency plans to address potential supply chain disruptions or other issues that may impact production.
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in the S&OP process and works to implement changes that will improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Developing reports and presentations that summarise the performance of the S&OP process and highlight key areas for improvement.

Continuous improvement:

  • Own and develop the S&OP process using a continuous improvement approach
  • Feedback continuous improvement areas to the Head of Planning.

Apply technical planning knowledge:

  • Ensure the tactical S&OP process links into the operational execution of plans, and feeds back into future cycles.

Stakeholder management:

  • Chair meetings, challenge assumptions, hold senior stakeholders to account and ensure overall meeting effectiveness.
  • Ensure key outputs from S&OP process are provided to internal and external stakeholders for execution.

Facilitating the S&OP process:

  • Ensure actions are assigned and closed out as an output of the S&OP process.
  • Monitor and control feedback from the execution of monthly plans.
  • Ensure monthly S&OP meetings are diarised.
  • Ensure planned meetings take place with the agreed attendees and meet agreed objectives.
  • Ensure changes and follow-up actions are documented for S&OP cycle.
  • Facilitate pre-S&OP meetings, agree actions and content for S&OP approval meetings.
  • Establish, monitor and report specific KPIs in line with S&OP needs.

Leadership skills:

  • Be S&OP champion for AML: lead the S&OP process for the business, with support from Head of Planning.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or STEM subject is desirable.
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g., APICS - CSCP) is desirable.
  • Strong background in supply chain management, with experience in S&OP, production planning, supply chain planning, and inventory management.
  • Experience participating in and leading the S&OP process, and aware of the benefits it brings to the organisation.
  • Extensive supply planning, production planning or demand planning experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using root cause problem solving techniques.
  • Ability to motivate and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of financial systems and the key drivers within the manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication skills to clearly articulate specific issues across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to successfully resolve issues and implement new processes to prevent recurrence.
  • Experience using an ERP system in a Planning role.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel or Tableau.
  • Familiar with the INFOR ERP system is desirable.
  • Stakeholder management, leadership experience.
  • Additional languages would be an advantage.
