Job Purpose:

Our guided diagnostics engineers ensure that Aston Martin Lagonda’s diagnostic tools offer world class useability and effectiveness, and minimize the number of technical support requests received by AML by maximizing the number of vehicles repaired by guided diagnostics.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the vehicle diagnostic trouble codes and DID/PID databases which are used to support the company’s diagnostic tools.
  • Author guided diagnostics for dealer technicians
  • Author instructional routines and user guides for use of AML’s diagnostic tools
  • Test releases of AML diagnostic software against specification and report any deviations, bugs or shortfalls.
  • Work with the R&D systems engineers and their suppliers to provide DTC diagnostic descriptions for inclusion into the AML help text systems.
  • Monitor effectiveness and useability of AML’s diagnostic tools. Feedback comments, suggestions, and improvements for inclusion to future software releases.
  • Be prepared to visit dealers to support service operations if necessary.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Previous experience with vehicle diagnostics including module reprogramming, retrieval of diagnostic trouble codes etc is required.
  • The ability to translate engineering data to user friendly information that can be used by dealer technicians.
  • Must have good clear interpersonal skills and be willing to interface with engineers and other personnel from various other company departments.
  • Knowledge of the information required to perform diagnostics, and the steps in a typical diagnostic process
  • A familiarity with industry standard diagnostic documentation (ODX, CSV, PDX etc)
  • Understanding of dealer processes
  • Experience in a diagnostics role, such as master technician or electrical technician.
