Initially the position will assist in the construction and installation of the new facility. Longer term the role is responsible for the maintenance of all manufacturing plant, equipment and facilities to ensure they are in good working order. The key objective of the role is to improve equipment reliability by increasing the mean time between failure (MTBF) while reducing the mean time to repair (MTTR).
The role will be based at the Aston Martin headquarters in Gaydon, Warwickshire for an initial 6-9 months and will then transfer to site at St Athan, South Wales.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Carrying our repairs to all types of plant equipment in a safe, timely and professional manner
Assist in the development of planned, preventative maintenance schedules (PPM)
Reporting faults and concerns to management
Manufacture spare parts as required (simple bracketry, gaskets etc) using lathes, milling machines and welding equipment etc
Manage the control and log of spares to ensure availability as required
Assist with the movement, installation and repositioning of machines and equipment
Qualification & Experience:
To be considered for this role you must possess either a Mechanical or Electrical based qualification with City and Guilds or equivalent.
Ideally you will have worked in a similar environment and be a skilled machine tool electrician with experience of both relay logic and PLC systems. A sound understanding knowledge of mechanical engineering is also required.
The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate excellent team behaviours and strong verbal communication skills along with sound technical knowledge.
