As a manager of the VCATs team you will develop and implement the manufacturing strategy required to deliver new product content into manufacturing. The successful candidate will work closely with programme teams, Production and the wider Man Eng group to ensure that projects are fully defined, resourced and tracked through to completion. This is a challenging and demanding role requiring excellent communication skills and the ability to simultaneously manage numerous project deliverables.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Establish the resources and strategy required to deliver new model content into production.
Review project documentation issued by the vehicle programme teams to fully evaluate the VCATs impact of all new model requirements and provide direction of all VCATs requirements.
Formally respond to SEL/PDL s on behalf of the VCATs teams detailing the VCATs strategy, musts & wants, cost of delivery and resources required for successful implementation.
Manage project reviews to track progress against agreed timelines and ensure successful delivery of all Mission deliverables and individual project deliverables.
Establish working groups with the VCATs teams to develop appropriate plans to support robust and efficient product introduction, validating diagnostic testing, calibration and configuration routines, and to fulfil testing plan requirements ensuring robust sequence deployment for critical processes
Coaching of the wider VCATs team to ensure robust plans are in place, targets are defined and timely progress achieved
Ensure ongoing re-alignment of AME project activities to support programme and launch requirements, and Manufacturing in investigation and permanent corrective action / resolution of current car issues.
Maintain project documentation (12-panels, project plans etc)
Present project status to senior teams as required including PSTs, gateways, LCMs etc.
Qualification & Experience:
Degree preferred (or equivalent qualification or experience) in a relevant subject is essential. Preferably, with a background in engineering/technology or vehicle electrical systems/Diagnostics.
Lean Manufacturing experience across a broad range of manufacturing disciplines
In depth understanding of Man Eng systems and procedures.
Previous management/leadership experience
Strong organisational and communication skills
