Finance at Aston Martin Lagonda is critical to supporting the business objectives and overall strategy. Working as a key support function to objectively financially assess the impacts and likely scenarios for business decisions. This is achieved by business partnering and working side by side with all departments to understand and analyse the consequences or value that can be created or removed from these actions. The department has a key responsibility for corporate governance and ensuring accurate and fair financial statements and corporate reporting, both internally and externally (including internal audit, investor relations and general corporate reporting).
This role requires a self-starter, highly dynamic individual who will drive performance throughout the Large Car-line, providing the appropriate financial guidance, control and reporting. The span of this role encompasses everything from, design, engineering, launch and manufacturing readiness for all Large Car-line products. The successful candidate will be fully embedded in the business and will require high level partnering skills with counterparts in Product Planning, Programme Management, Design & R&D as well as the ability to create productive working relationships with colleagues across Finance, Sales & Marketing, Procurement and Manufacturing.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Ownership of the Forecast, Budget and Business Plan preparation for all Large Car-line Programmes, explained primarily as product creation activity and fixed assets (vendor tooling, factory equipment, IT and non-prod assets).
Lead on key material and inventory cost targets within the Large Car-line, supporting effective communication and achievement of these targets alongside cross-departmental interfaces.
Guide Large Car-line Planning activities to deliver the Business Plan.
Support project teams in achieving and improving upon Budget and Business Plan targets.
Cost centre control (including monthly accounting and forecasting analysis).
Preparation and review of monthly management information across Large Car projects [Resource, Profitability, CAPEX, etc.]
Capital and expense project approval, budgeting and forecasting.
Lead the preparation and presentation of financials to senior management and external stakeholders as appropriate
Delegated responsibility for Senior Finance Manager when required.
Key lead on carline scenario and profitability modelling to ensure acceptable company returns are being delivered.
Chair, lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to resolve key financial risks or issues.
Challenge operating interfaces to help achieve the most cost-efficient results.
Controller for business case inputs and other financial metrics around Large Car-line Projects including Cashflow, Profitability and budget compatibility.
Qualification & Experience:
Candidates should have a proven track record of a broad financial and interpersonal skill set with strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
Previous experience within a financial Product Creation function.
Educated to degree level (2:1 minimum).
CIMA/ACCA qualified or passed finalist.
