Work with all design and test engineer to support the release of the component system.
Deliver engine and transmission virtual validation simulations to optimize and analytically prove product attribute targets.
Coordination engine/drivetrain simulation and virtual validation planning externally and internally.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and execute all NVH-Simulations in the Drivetrain Department.
Strong technical background of radiated NVH and Acoustic
Experienced in FEM and MBS-Powertrain Simulations
Analysis of a broad range of finite element models and providing engineering solutions to ensure designs meet the required legal and internal requirements
Create and own analytical DVP and ensure alignment with physical DVP.
Construction of simulation models within existing naming, numbering and model construction processes
Work alongside commodity owners and CAD teams to evolve designs by giving advice on geometry as well as material and fixing selection
Assist in target setting process, including development of Design Standards and Methodology.
Present results at a range of levels within the Organization.
The primary internal relationships for this role will be the main customers of the Simulation team, the Powertrain department. Beyond this there are regular interactions with a large range of other teams including Programme, NVH, Chassis, Vehicle Dynamics, Manufacturing and Body Engineering departments. Externally the role is likely to involve contact with suppliers of simulation and design, but also with component suppliers.
Coordination and tracking of external service providers and report regular update on timing, costs and project progress
Qualification & Experience:
Strong technical skills and understanding of engineering fundamentals
Creative thinking and problem-solving
Ability to provide technical direction to the project design engineers
Strong teamworking skills are required to ensure effective communication and collaboration across functional teams
Independent, proactive, working on own initiative with minimum supervision
Open and honest communication
Accountable and responsible to deliver on commitments
Knowledge of materials used in the high-performance automotive or aerospace sectors, e.g. aluminium
Appreciated a basic knowledge of NVH theory and simulation, Python and Matlab scripting
