Engineering Manager - EDS and Power Management

Job Purpose: 

To Lead the delivery EDS, Circuits and Power Management components and system designs.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Business Planning – Define and manage long term commodity strategy. Define and manage programme and commodity budgets. Identify and deliver production cost improvements. Manage and balance resource requirements for team.
  • Engineering - Deliver high quality, on-time engineering releases. Define engineering standards and specify components. Resolve technical issues within team and interfacing departments. Manage suppliers to deliver engineering content. Produce and pre-approve documentation for engineering sign-off.
  • Team Leadership – Manage internal and outsource teams to deliver objectives. Develop team competence and maintain motivation.

This role will be supervised and supported by the Senior Manager - Electrical Component Development & Integration, however it is expected that the person in this role will have the ability to take most decisions autonomously to deliver objectives.  It will also be supported in programme commodity delivery by the Electrical Application team, Electrical Integration team and Test team.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Significant experience with delivering electrical commodities within the EDS, Power Management and/or Circuit design fields.
  • Good understanding of automotive engineering process and tools.
  • Experience of managing large suppliers and associated budgets.
  • Strong and broad technical knowledge of Electrical systems.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes associated with commodity assembly.
  • Experience of leading a cross functional team including complex issue resolution.
  • Experience of managing an engineering team to deliver set objectives.
  • Experience in using Teamcenter and/or NX CAD tool.
  • Experience and training in High voltage systems.

Remuneration:

  • One management lease vehicle and access to another vehicle via the Mercedes scheme.
  • 7.5% annual target bonus, with the opportunity to earn up to a maximum bonus of 15%.
