The Launch team are responsible for ensuring the flawless introduction of a new product on to the production line.  Liaising across all areas of the business this position is responsible for bringing all stakeholders together to deliver key project milestones and ultimately, the delivery of a new Aston Martin. 


Job Purpose:

This Role is to coordinate robust planning and delivery of New Model Launch programmes through close cooperation with the NML Leader and stakeholder departments for the body shops and the assembly shops.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

Programme Management

  • To create and follow the New Model Launch Master Plan for new vehicle programmes
  • To support the Launch Leader by confirming progress of the New Model Launch deliverables for the Gateways & Check points from Programme kick off through the development phases, pre-production stages, into SOP then on to handover.
  • Lead concern meetings for either the body shops or the assembly shops in parallel to the other Launch Coordinator
  • Present the launch status at meetings.
  • Maintain the programme visual controls, reports, etc to visualise programme status


    Build planning and facilitation

  • Create and maintain Launch day-by-day build and overview plan for associated programmes ensuring consistency and agreement with PD, Programme, Quality, L&C, Marketing, Production, etc.
  • Support the NML Leader & Manager, working with Programme Office, Quality, Production, PD, Man Eng etc in planning pre-production build phases for programmes ensuring that build phases & resource requirements support the delivery
  • Implement the Production Readiness reviews for nominated build location to ensure all stakeholders can deliver their respective responsibilities
  • Escalate major issues which may impact on pre-prod builds and SOP that cannot be resolved to the Launch Leader for support
  • Facilitate remaining deliverables to ensure the pre-production phases are successful (BOM activity, equipment & tooling, logistics methods etc) for both line and pilot builds.


    Concern Management

  • Drive the identification, containment and resolution of concerns found during build phases.
  • Manage the containments through the pre-production builds and into Job#1, using containment trackers, concern board etc to promote and protect vehicle quality


Qualifications & Experience

  • Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification is essential
  • Experience within Programme or project management
  • Automotive experience is desirable
  • Experience within New product launch development
  • Broad Engineering and manufacturing knowledge
  • Finance awareness    

Remuneration Package:

  • Negotiable base salary in line with experience (from £38,000)
  • Discount on our privilege lease scheme, either a Mercedes or Ford.
  • Contributory pension scheme – 3% matched for years 1 & 2, rising to double matched contributions from year 3 to a maximum employer contribution of 12%.
