Due to the significant growth Aston Martin has experienced in recent years we now benefit from being a true multi-site organisation, and as such this role could be based at a number of sites, including Gaydon, Wellesbourne and Milton Keynes
To Deliver specialist support for ADAS and highly automated driving development and delivery, focusing on systems development, systems architecture and validation, with aim of developing state of the art performance across both Aston Martin Lagonda product line ups.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
To bring and maintain a contemporary international competency in Active Safety and Driver Assistance systems (such as AEB, ACC, Lane keep assist, Traffic Jam Assist etc)
Be a key knowledge holder for ADAS systems within the company
To contribute to long term ADAS and highly automated driving strategy development and tactical feature deployment across vehicle lines
To coordinate and lead active safety and ADAS unique future feature and systems development activities
The definition and development of future ADAS and highly automated vehicle systems architecture requirements to support future E/E architecture definition
To support company R&D studies and PoC programmes and to lead governmental funding opportunities and applications
To develop and maintain relationships with key supplier partners, technology providers and external systems and SW service providers
To help develop and refine active safety / highly automated vehicle subsystem target/requirements definition, development and cascade
To support pre-concept work and archetype development on production models
Qualifications and Experience
Good relevant Engineering degree (or equivalent) minimum 2.1
Masters or PhD in relevant engineering (or equivalent)
Excellent knowledge of Active Safety related regulations and validation procedures
Extensive experience in ADAS development
Proven track record of achievement within Active Safety / ADAS development and delivery
Understanding of the principals of Functional Safety (ISO26262)
Good understanding of highly automated driving systems architecture and sensor requirements
Experience with vehicle and systems architectures (CAN/Flex-ray/Ethernet)
Experience of using typical development tools such as Vector, CANoe, physical targets and simulation tools
Intuitive knowledge of fundamental engineering theory
Excellent IT skills and working knowledge of MS word/Excel etc
Excellent problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication skills and ability to influence at all levels of organisation
Self-starting and self-motivated
Excellent organisational skills
Able to learn quickly and integrate into a successful and dynamic team
Full UK Drivers Licence and flexibility to travel in UK and overseas
Negotiable base salary in line with experience (from £50,000)
One management lease vehicle, either a Mercedes or Ford.
Up to 5% bonus potential
Contributory pension scheme – 3% matched for years 1 & 2, rising to double matched contributions from year 3 to a maximum employer contribution of 12%.
