Based in Wellesbourne, this role involves preparing instrumentation installations in prototype vehicles / bucks and support whole vehicle & component testing in line with design verification plans of all future AM product
Expected to have thorough vehicle knowledge and have the ability to dismantle, prepare and assemble vehicle components and sub-assemblies to carry out an instrumentation task.
Ability to follow work instructions and procedures to enable a robust measurement & data collection service.
To build / assemble bespoke Instrumentation systems as directed by Instrumentation engineers.
Will have knowledge of different transducers and their applications for making vehicle and rig based measurements.
Will have good soldering skills at connector & PCB level.
Will be able to work to circuit diagrams / electrical schematics.
To support instrumented test vehicles/ bucks or rigs off-site during tests
Experience working with Hybrid or Electric vehicles or working with High Voltage systems would be an advantage.
Key Skills & Experience:
Full Apprenticeship (Motor Vehicle background) ideally to HNC level
Prototype Test Vehicle Experience
Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and ability to work to engineering / circuit diagrams.
Understanding of computer systems and software including MS Word & Excel.
Knowledge of Datalogger systems.
Team player but also able to work independently
Self-starting, relishes challenges
Flexible and adaptable to new situations
Ability to travel to support tests.
The post holder will undertake other duties as may be required to achieve the Company’s objectives, commensurate with the grading of the post.
Rate: £16.85 per hour
