Be the focal point in providing the Project Management / Coordination for purchasing programme activity and deliverables ensuring integration and adherence to vehicle line contract requirements. Represent Purchasing and business interests across the company identifying and working to resolve potential variance to plan.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
Project management of purchasing program activities ensuring adherence to programme deliverables.
Leading and supporting cross functional activity to ensure delivery of data into the purchasing team in line with programme requirements
Support the creation of the engineering timing release schedule (ETRS) and track adherence to plan ensuring releases are received, actioned and returned in specified timing frames.
Project manage and lead activity to resolve deviations to ETRS plan ensure all deliverables are achieved and escalating risks where appropriate
Support coordination of programme gateways for the successful completion of purchasing deliverables.
Represent purchasing at programme meetings including gateways, programme steering team, design reviews , launch control meetings and other meetings as required.
Lead programme sourcing, cost and timing reviews ensuring all sourcing activities are in line with programme timing and cost targets.
Lead and support the development and implementation of purchasing processes to support programme milestones ensuring all QCD targets are met.
Lead the coordination, escalation and resolution for identified programme risks.
Coordinate and support purchasing activity for financial target setting process.
Analysis and reporting of adherence to programme material and investment cost against target / contract.
Coordinate Purchasing activities in terms of mitigating cost risks and realising opportunities in order to make a positive impact upon Purchasing programme performance
Support development of programme specific commodity strategies.
Collaboration with other areas of AML on maintaining commodity strategies which meet the short as well as the long term aims of the business.
Qualifications and Experience
Ideally the successful candidate will be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, and or a full member of CIPS or at least working towards it. The individual should hold a full driving licence and be prepared to travel where their specific work responsibilities require it.
Previous experience in Purchasing, ideally within a manufacturing environment is desirable; however, of greater importance is the individual’s aptitude and commitment to rapidly assimilate the needs of the role and to be quickly performing in the role, to a high standard.
Negotiable base salary in line with experience (circa £32,000pa)
